Each week, former Texas A&M quarterback Stephen McGee breaks down key plays from the previous game. This week Stephen takes a closer look at the X's and O's of the Aggies' 24-10 loss to No. 1 Clemson.

Thanks Caldwell for keeping this free for us.

I wish McGee would have broken down the interception too. I didn't see any receivers that were open or even running routes on the right side of the offense, but was that just a designed single option throw and if it's not there then Mond had to just eat it?

Good stuff as always. Thanks for doing this.

I'd like to see the DBs have a little softer hands. They're starting to get their heads turned around and that's great but instead of swatting at the ball, just put your hands up and if it hits, you might have a chance at the pick. Then again you don't want the WR to have a shot at it so ...

I hope we never see another DB get beat deep again! What was O'Neal thinking? He had 25-30 yards to run to get to Lawrence!!!

WTF came over our WRs? Same thing happened last yr at State! Someone has to step up and break the domino effect!

RB, WR and TE blocking is atrocious!!!!! Game 1 was the same.

We've got another week to clean this **** up but that's it!

On the Mond run and fumble - if he bounces that outside, good chance he takes it all the way.

I haven't heard Jimbo say it, but it occurred to me that coaches since R.C. have said teams see their greatest improvement from game 1 to game 2. Guess we can toss that saying out.
I just hope they get it together, and quick.

Great job again, Gabe and Stephen.

Great overview and insight. Bottom line is we are a lot closer to being great than people realize.

Thanks for the breakdown, great as always!

I thought on Mond fumble that his receivers had the defense blocked outside and Mond took it inside right into the defenders. He didn't seem to run with good vision or ability to set up his blockers as good runners do.

Really surprised how undisciplined and out of alignment we are on a lot of those plays. I hope Spiller can do a better job pass blocking than Corbin. Also, I hope Jimbo starts playing some of the young receivers we have and maybe start cutting into the starters game reps to help push them to improvement.

He never does, as he has good straight line speed but is not a dual-threat QB at all. He doesn't even use his escapability and speed and athleticism enough on crucial 3rd downs when he can easily pull the ball down and run 8-12 yards to get a first down, he stands there too long and makes a bad pass or takes a sack.

Despite the coaching, that is a "feel" thing, Jimbo neither encourages or discourages the QB to run, as the QBs job is to stand in there, keep his eyes downfield and throw the ball, but your QB MUST be able to feel the pressure and know when to bail and get the first down when it is there to do so.

Mond had 2 or 3 of these vs. Clemson. Unfortunately it won't get any better vs. Auburn or Bama as it's not something that can be practice and improved upon, QB either has it and does it, or does not, Mond does not.

Thanks for the review.
I just want to see Mond comfortable on his own 2 feet between plays and hope it translates to during plays.

Thanks for keeping this free. It's very interesting to see the amount of time it took us to get plays made. I wonder if it was Mond, the OC, or the crowd that wasn't ready?

It's like we value getting the right play called over possibly false starting, fumbling the snap, or delay of game. Which happened a ton. I think this game was the prime example of being "out of sync" as McGee put it.
