Making Moves: 2020 Longview QB Haynes King
This month’s D&D Moving & Storage biggest mover is Longview QB and Texas A&M commit Haynes King. The state champion signal caller’s ascent up our rankings has been pretty steady since January, but he’s now found himself in our top 5 (no. 4) for the first time ever.
Haynes asserted himself amongst the nation’s best at The Opening in Frisco in early July. He blew away the coaches and media in attendance with his accuracy, timing, feel for trajectory and overall leadership qualities. It was at that event that his stock went from “a good player from a premier program in the state” to “this kid is one of the best prep quarterbacks in America.”
Haynes combines high marks of intangibles with elite quarterbacking skill. He’s hard nosed, tough, and a coach’s kid, but he’s also an elite athlete with great speed and a good arm. He’s the total package. Check out his junior highlights below.
King led Longview to their first state title in 81 years as a junior and is looking to return to AT&T Stadium again this fall to culminate his already illustrious high school career as Lobo.
