2021 Denton Guyer QB Eli Stowers commits to Texas A&M
Texas A&M kicked off the 2021 class in a big way Tuesday when one of the top signal callers in the country announced his decision to become an Aggie. After a strong camp performance in June, Denton Guyer 2021 QB Eli Stowers decided he was ready to make his college decision and committed to A&M Tuesday evening.
Stowers stands tall at 6-foot-4 and 200 pounds, and he is an athletic, dual-threat quarterback. He is a two-year starter for Guyer, and as a sophomore he threw for over 1,500 yards and rushed for over 1,100.
In addition to his abilities on the football field, Stowers is also a standout on the track and the sixth man on one of the best high school basketball teams in the state. He claimed the 6A high jump state championship earlier this spring.
College coaches from coast-to-coast have extended scholarship offers. Clemson, Georgia, LSU, Oregon and several others have let him know he is more than welcome in their programs, but in the end the Aggies are his choice.
He was offered by A&M in January, and Stowers and his family visited soon after. Jimbo Fisher personally handled much of his recruiting process with offensive coordinator Darrell Dickey and area recruiter Terry Price also actively involved.
He is currently ranked No. 13 in the TexAgs.com 2021 Texas Top 50, and he is the highest ranked Texas 2021 prospect to make his commitment.
