Key notes from Mike Evans interview
- The event I’m putting on will be a good time. It’s for a great cause. Every time I’ve been to Grand Station, it’s been packed. It is Saturday, May 18th. There will be lots of former and current Aggie football players. It will be a good time with a lot of great people.
- The guys in Tampa Bay responded well to the new coaching staff. I really like this offense a lot. I think it will be our best year yet. Hopefully we stay healthy. If we stay healthy, I think we’re a playoff contender, and then once you get in the playoffs, anything can happen.
- Two years ago, Larry Fitzgerald gave me his jersey, but I haven’t talked to him about the offense Bruce Arians runs. There are a few guys on the team that were in it and said they really like it.
- We lost a big piece in Kwon Alexander. Devin White is similar to Kwon. I haven’t gotten a chance to meet him, but I will in a couple of weeks. I like our picks. We drafted a lot of defensive guys. We have a really good defensive coordinator in Todd Bowles.
- I’m going to watch every Aggie football game I can. They play before us most Saturdays. Last year, they fought every game and were in every game. A&M gave the Auburn game away, and they had them beat easily. A&M will be more mature this year. I went to the spring game, and the defense was flying around. I was impressed with how the defense looked. I love the receivers. I love how Kellen Mond is getting better and better. A&M has a tough schedule, but I think they can do it.
- I like all of the A&M receivers, but there is something about Kendrick Rogers. I like his number. Rogers can be a first-round pick. He can be a top-ten pick if he has a really good year. I think Quartney Davis can be a first-round pick as well. Dreams can come true.
