Why should we apologize for bringing in MILLIONS of additional dollars to the university in a period of declining state appropriations, and a time in which we want to limit tuition increases as much as possible?

Financials aside, the support of Pepsi from a marketing, recycling and student support standpoint has been unparalleled. I would challenge you to prove otherwise.

I'll take the millions from Pepsi, give up my Dr. Pepper while on campus, and encourage as many folks to drink Pepsi as I can. Really appreciate their support of our university.

I'm with Rebang (even though he/she is a rook). The Pepsi sellout is horrendous. It is a main reason I go out of my way, when possible, to avoid staying at a few "sellout" hotel chains that restrict beverage choices for their customers to only Pepsi products. Yes - I was also formerly "Diamond" level with one and "Platinum" level with the other. I even had a clerk reserve a few of "The Real Thing" beverages when he knew I was coming.

Mr. Cook:

Your apparent defensive posture, challenging folks to "prove otherwise" is also a bit telling. You hold all of the cards and know the negotiations, etc. We don't know what took place. All that you know is that most likely, well over half of the students, former students, visitors, etc. on campus with a beverage preference, would prefer "the Real Thing". I have no vested interest in Coke, personally, professionally or remotely otherwise.

It's a bad choice for a product that is a distant second and very restrictive about competing products, in exchange for the almighty dollar. Coke (et al) is just a better product preferred by more people and the restrictive nature of your agreement is quite absurd.

LOL! I can't imagine that it is really all that disappointing to you or anyone.

It's a drink loaded with sugar. It really should have zero effect on your life other than your health. I doubt it rots more teeth or makes folks fatter than Coke.

Pepsi is the bevel of soft drinks? Marketing aside, I haven't had a Pepsi since before 1985. Is Dr. Pepper available in the Pepsi machines?

For the record I prefer Pepsi over Coke. But if I had to give it up for the rest of my life I could. It's just freaking SODA! I am in favor of enhancing our university for concessions such as these.
Mr. Cook, thank you for your work and making yourself available and vulnerable to the masses. I enjoyed the interview on TexAgs thoroughly. Happy to have the insight into the marketing issues and the SEC stories.

Sometimes getting more money doesn't equate to quality. Us staying in the big 12 for $20 million is testament to that. If you can't see that pepsi branding is far inferior to coke, then I can see why you like the beveled T.

Never had a pepsi, have you? If it were caffeine-free pepsi, I'd be cool with it. For some reason, caffeine-free pepsi tastes pretty good. Regular pepsi tastes like sludge.
