WATCH: Texas A&M takes over gate at Austin-Bergstrom Airport
Texas Longhorn fans will have to try a little bit harder to keep the Aggies off their minds as Texas A&M has implemented (very) large advertisements at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.
The university set up displays throughout one gate, complete with large banner signage, 12th Man charging stations and more. Perhaps the most jabbing advertisement can be found on a staircase display that includes a quote from the Washington Monthly that named Texas A&M “number one in Texas.”
The time-lapse video below, provided by Texas A&M Marketing & Communications, shows the work that went into making the airport a little more redass.
Aggies are 100% on board with these efforts, as evidenced by yesterday’s Premium post by TexAgs user sleepliving — he took pictures of the banners after returning home from a trip to Beijing, promptly received over 500 blue stars, and is in line to win back-to-back Posts of the Day.
He’s not the only one noticing: photos of the banners have made their way onto social media as well.
While the advertisements likely won’t be well-received by Longhorns, it’s important to note that no ‘Hook ‘em’ signs were turned upside down in the making of these banners.
