Men’s Basketball
After a 94-71 loss to No. 3 Gonzaga, the Aggies remain on the road as they travel to Canada for the Vancouver Showcase. They will face Minnesota on Sunday, Nov. 18, before taking on Washington on Tuesday, Nov. 20.
Women’s Basketball
On Wednesday, the No. 20 Texas A&M women’s basketball team suffered its first loss of the season in White Plains, NY. Despite a rally in the fourth quarter, the Aggies could couldn’t make a comeback against No. 18 Syracuse, falling 75-65. The Aggies return to action on Tuesday, Nov. 20 at Little Rock. Texas A&M returns to Reed Arena to host Arkansas State next Friday, Nov. 23 at 4 p.m.
It was also announced that four-star point guard McKinzie Green (Manvel, Texas) signed a National Letter of Intent with Texas A&M. She will join the team for the 2019-2020 season.
Soccer
After a 1-0 win in double overtime against North Texas, the No. 16 Aggie soccer team is looking to advance in their 15th NCAA Championship Sweet Sixteen. They face the TCU Horned Frogs in a second round match today at 1:00 in Knoxville, Tennessee. TCU is coming off a 2-1 victory over BYU, their first-ever NCAA Tournament win. They are looking to avenge a 1-0 home loss to Texas A&M in a NCAA Division I Championship first round match in 2016.
This week, Coach G Guerrieri announced that the Aggies have received letters of intent for four of the top high school soccer players in the nation. The list of high school players includes Kenna Caldwell (GK – Lone Tree, Colo.), Shantel Hutton (GK – Duluth, Ga.), Ali Russell (F – Katy, Texas) and Katie Smith (D – Tulsa, Okla.) The Aggies also signed forward Taylor Ziemer, a transfer from the University of Virginia and sister of current Aggie freshman Tara Ziemer. All five players are slated to join the team for the 2019 season.
Swimming and Diving
Both the Aggie men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams are competing in the Art Adamson Invitational this week in College Station. In yesterday’s second round, the Aggie women won four races, and with 2 individual victories, senior Sydney Pickrem earned her ticket to the NCAA championships. Also yesterday, the men’s team took down another school record and won six of seven races. After two days of action, the Aggie men lead the team standings with 1,139 points.
Football
Following the Aggies' 38-24 win over Ole Miss, Braden Mann and Travyeon Williams were named SEC Players of the Week. Williams was also named one of 10 semifinalists for the Doak Walker Award, and Braden Mann was named one of 10 semifinalists for the Ray Guy Award. Additionally, Jace Sternberger was named one of eight semifinalists for the John Mackey Award.
