Key notes from Jerrod Johnson interview

  • The clothing company is called "Stately Gentlemen". I realized that there is a market for regionally strategic ways to dress fashion forward. I researched the market and realized that this might work. The name stands for something, which to me means a lot. Stately is a play on the word statement, I want to give people a way to dress in support of their team without being over the top. Our three pillars are comfort, class, and charity. I wanted to start in College Station to give back to this community and I think this brand that celebrates being a modern gentleman does that.

  • Overall I’m seeing a lack of plays being made across the board. I don’t see us making plays on the ball on the back end of the secondary. The last two weeks we have given up these plays just based on positioning. With Kellen, I know he is young but there needs to be some sort of anticipation and mastery of the offense. The margin of error is so slim at the NFL level and so you need to master it at the college level. The SEC is so difficult to play in and right now we lack that play making ability.

  • Everyone is always optimistic about their football team, but realistically there is a lack of experience on this team. They don’t know how to win in the SEC West and our guys are just an inch off right now. As the games go on, these guys will start making plays, but we have to deal with the mistakes right now.

  • Jhamon has the pelts on the wall right now. He is the guy who can go win a jump ball for you. The combination of him and Rogers was so good against Clemson and that needs to be the factor going forward.
