Strong outing by Hollann Hans not enough to take down Alabama

Friday night Texas A&M volleyball took to Reed Arena to play the Crimson Tide but lost in an unfortunate five sets, 25-19, 14-25, 16-25, 25-14, 10-15.

Set after set was a constant battle of momentum. One side of the net always had it more than the other, which led in a battle between who could execute more rather than a game of skill. Head Coach Laura “Bird” Kuhn could agree as well. “We made too many errors. It’s a game of momentum when we had it," Bird said. "Alabama defended well and earned points when they had opportunities. Finishing is our biggest challenge.”

Hollann Hans is the kill leader yet again with 19 total. Both middles, London Austin-Roark and Makena Patterson weren’t far behind with 13 kills each and Austin-Roark leading with 9 blocks. Samantha Sanders and setter Camille Conner also ended the match with 12 kills divided between the two.

Five other players also made their appearance on the court tonight and really helped the Aggies when they needed it. Haley Slocum, Skylar Scott, Taylor Voss, Sydnye Fields, and Sydney Little all helped bring out the fourth set win.

Texas A&M volleyball will be playing again on Sunday October 28 at 1:30 p.m. in Columbia, Missouri. They won’t be back in Reed until they face South Carolina on November 9th at 5 p.m.
