After a two-hour rain delay, the No. 8 ranked Texas A&M women’s soccer team extended their winning streak in a 4-0 match against the Santa Clara Broncos.

The Aggies couldn’t catch their rhythm as they went into a scoreless first half. The game took a shift when the first goal was scored in the 48th minute as Aggie Ally Watt notched her sixth of the season.

Plays started to connect as Ásdís Halldórsdóttir placed her first goal as an Aggie in the 64th with help from Jimena Lopez. Momentum continued as Aggie Jordan Hill scored within minutes from Halldórsdóttir.

Ásdís Halldórsdóttir contributed to the offense as she scored the second goal of the match, her 1st as an Aggie.

“We need to execute where we have to be ourselves and really push ourselves to be the best that we can be,” Watt said. “I really think we showed that in the second half and came out in a 10-minute span with the last three goals.”

Emily Bates scores the final goal in the 68th minute to secure the win with a 4-0 lead.

The Aggies continue to make history as the first A&M soccer team to begin the season 6-0 since nearly a decade ago.

“It really shows what the team is made of, the drive we have, the dedication we have to be each other willing to do anything. The variety we have going forward with how many goals by different people,” Watt said.

As the Aggies advance, Coach Guerrieri and the team look to extend their win streak in another home match against Colorado College at 8 p.m. Friday, September 7th.
