Notes from Billy's breakdown on Brown
- I think Bobby was going to A&M leading up to Signing Day, he just never decommitted. This was a huge head-to-head win over the team that is the model of excellence in college football. Then to be able to get a defensive lineman from them is huge. And this started a trend of A&M winning some recruiting battles over the Tide in the state of Texas.
- The reason why Alabama wanted Bobby is becuase he is an impact player along the defensive line. He also brings that versatility with the ability to play both inside and outside at 300-plus pounds. He could set an edge with his power, then be an inside power with his quickness. I think they need more help at end on the current roster, so that may be where he makes a bigger impact in year one.
- He's had a good summer, starting to turn some heads, especially in the weight room. I think that's what you need to hear about a true freshman if they're going to make an impact from day one. I think the thing for Bobby is they hope he doesn't outgrow the defensive end position.
- He has the potential to be an instant impact, although it will be tough in the first month against Alabama and Clemson. I think he's going to be a guy we continue to see get better as the year goes on.
