Texas A&M has landed another out of state commitment today as Virginia native Adarious Jones has added his name to the Aggies’ 2019 recruiting class. Jones is a 6-3, 290-pound defensive lineman who plays at Bishop Sullivan Catholic School in Virginia Beach.
Jones caught the attention of the A&M staff when he visited unofficially for a camp in early June. He worked out in front of the coaches and impressed all in attendance with his strength, get off, leverage and mobility. Defensive tackles coach Elijah Robinson has close ties to the area from his time at Temple, and his relationship with Jones was the key in landing his commitment. Jones’ pledge moves the Aggie class to 19 in number, and he’s the fourth commitment along the defensive front - joining Josh Ellison, Braedon Mowry and DeMarvin Leal. He ultimately chose A&M over the in-state Hokies of Virginia Tech.
