The Aggies had another doubleheader Wednesday as they took on Sam Houston State. A&M won both games, defeating the Bearkats, 9-1 in 5 innings in game one and 3-0 in game two from the Aggie Softball Complex.

In game one, seventh-ranked Texas A&M softball team wasted no time getting on top. In the bottom of the first inning, Riley Sartain doubled to center plating both Kaitlyn Alderink and Tori Vidales to give the Ags an early 2-0 lead. Sarah Hudek tripled home Sartain later in the inning to give A&M a three-run lead when the dust settled on the first frame.

The Aggies were not done scoring in game one, however. Vidales added two more RBI's in the bottom of the second when she doubled home Erica Russell and Keeli Milligan. Vidales ended the game with an RBI groundout in the bottom of the fifth inning to score Blake-Ann Fritsch.

That would be all the run support Trinity Harrington would need in the circle. Harrington tosed the complete five innings, allowing one run on three hits in the run-rule shortened contest.

Game #16: Texas A&M 3, SHSU 0
Records: Texas A&M 14-2 (0-0), Sam Houston State 3-11 (0-0)
WP: Samantha Show (4-1)
LP: Lindsey McLeod (2-3)
Box Score

In game two, the Aggies were a little more quiet offensively. Sarah Hudek got the scoring started in the bottom of the first when she delivered a bases-loaded RBI single that scored both Tori Vidales and Ashley Walters. The game's only other run was scored in the fourth when Kristen Cuyos doubled home Hudek to bring the score to the final, 3-0.

In the circle in game two Smantha Show went to work and kept the Bearkat bats quiet. Scattering three hits and striking out six, Show was able to stay in control by issuing no free passes in her seven innings of work.

The wins bring the Aggies' record to 14-2 on the season. The Ags return to action on Friday for day one of the A&M Invite at the Aggie Softball Complex against Louisiana Tech at 3:00 p.m. In town for the weekend will be Louisiana Tech, Texas State and Utah. All A&M games will be broadcast on SEC Network+.
