Texas A&M got another win on Sunday afternoon at Reed Arena, improving its overall record to 2-0 with a victory over Louisiana-Lafayette, 83-62.

The Aggies struggled on defense and trailed the Cajuns throughout the first and second quarters, though Anriel Howard lit up the stat sheet by scoring 15 points and securing 8 rebounds. She was followed by Danni Williams, who scored 7 points and dished out 4 assists in the first half.

Coming out of halftime, A&M sprang into action. The Ags took the lead and scored 26 points in the third quarter, while holding ULL to just 11. Chennedy Carter and Lulu McKinney kept the energy alive with back-to-back three-pointers to end the frame.

“I think we came out not fully ready to play honestly," Howard said. "Once it picked up for us, we turned the game around.”

The fourth quarter wasn’t much different as the Maroon and White sustained a nice lead, scoring 24 more points to run away with its second win of the season.

“We were running our stuff pretty good,” coach Gary Blair said. “We were scoring and not getting beat on the boards. We have to be a running team.”

Texas A&M will be back in action at Reed Arena on Thursday at 7 p.m.
