GAME #32: Texas A&M 5, Texas State 1

RECORDS: Texas A&M (29-3, 7-2 SEC); Texas State (18-13, 1-4 Sun Belt)
WP: Samantha Show (11-2)
LP: Randi Rupp (15-3)

The No. 5 Aggies proved there is only room for one team in maroon in Texas on Wednesday at the Aggie Softball Complex, defeating Texas State, 5-1.

Right-hander Samantha Show (11-2, 0.99 ERA) led the Aggies in the circle, only allowing just 1 hit on 108 pitches.

With the bases loaded early in the first and an Aggie error, the Bobcats were able to take an early 1-0 lead. It proved to be their only run of the game.

A&M caught up and took the lead in the fourth, scoring three runs. Riley Sartain doubled down the right field line, scoring sophomore Kaitlyn Alderink, and Kristen Cuyos singled to left field to score Sartain. With two outs, Sarah Hudek scored Cuyos with a double off the outfield wall.

Tori Vidales took no time extending the Aggies lead in the fifth inning with a two-run home run over the left field wall.

The Aggies added one more to their win column and extend their overall record 29-3 with the victory. They will head to South Carolina to take on the Gamecocks in a three-game series starting Saturday, April 1st at 1:00 p.m.
