It was nice that the seniors got to play thru the 2nd set. Good overall team win.

Texas A&M Volleyball defeats LSU on Senior Night, 3-1
The Texas A&M Volleyball team finished their home schedule with a 3-1 win over the LSU Tigers. The Aggies bounced back from their loss against #24 Kentucky on Sunday and have now won 14 of their last 16 matches. A&M finished their home schedule by winning six matches in a row.
Texas A&M jumped out to a 1-0 set lead after holding off a late Tiger push, winning the set, 25-17.
LSU kept things close in the second set and took it to extra points, eventually taking the set from A&M, 27-25. The Tigers won five of the last seven points in the set to close it out and tie the Aggies in sets won.
“I thought we started off strong, but when we sub a lot it chops up the rhythm of the game,” said head coach Laurie Corbelli.
Following the intermission, Texas A&M got back on track with a convincing 25-18 set win over the Tigers. The Bayou Bengals fought hard in the fourth set but were not able to stop the Aggies from picking up the victory on Senior Night. A&M closed the match by winning the fourth set, 25-22.
Freshman Hollann Hans continued her stellar play for the Aggies, logging a career high 20 kills on the night. Hans’ previous career high was 16. Hans also finished the match with six digs and two service aces.
Senior Victoria Arenas set her season high in digs at 25 on the night and junior Amy Nettles also set a season high in digs with 24. Overall as a team the Aggies tallied 103 digs, which is an all-time SEC record for the team.
The Aggies picked up the win on a night that is meant to honor the seniors of the team. At one point in the match the entire lineup was composed of seniors.
“I am glad that we got to get all of the seniors on the court at the same time, that was really cool,” said Corbelli.
“There was a time when all five seniors were on the floor with Amy Nettles, which was really cool. I don’t think I have ever been able to do that in the past.
On a night where the freshman Hollann Hans dominated the match, the focus was still on picking up a win for the seniors of the team.
“Before the game we talked about what we wanted to do for the seniors to make this last game at Reed Arena the best for them,” said Hollann Hans,” we wanted to go out with a bang for them and play our best.”
The Aggies did just that and improve to 20-8 on the season and are now 14-3 in SEC play. Texas A&M is back in action on Saturday, November 26 at 12:30pm as they travel to face off against Auburn in the regular season finale.
