Texas A&M rises to #20 and #24 in the AP and Coaches Polls
There's usually a big shakeup in the second week of the polls, and this year was no different. The Aggies, previously unranked, have moved up in both the AP and Coaches polls to #20 and #24, respectively, after beating UCLA in overtime on Saturday. The Bruins, meanwhile, dropped from #16 to unranked in the AP.
After going a collective 7-7 over Labor Day weekend, including losses by #5 LSU and #11 Ole Miss, the SEC still has six teams represented in the AP Top 25, but only two in the Top 10 – #1 Alabama and #9 Georgia.
The Aggies are also ranked in a variety of other places:
#12 in Jeff Sagarin's Ratings
#14 in ESPN's Football Power Index
#15 in CBS Sports' 128
#18 in Bleacher Report's Top 25
#21 in Sports Illustrated's Power Rankings
Also, if you're into (way too early) bowl projections, here's one from Jerry Palm at CBS to get prematurely angry about: Texas A&M vs. Baylor in the Texas Bowl.
