Notes from Billy's thoughts on Evans
- Some insiders would say that Justin Evans is up there with Myles Garrett when you are talking about best players on the A&M defense. He is certainly in the discussion and that is high praise when you think about all of the talent on the defense
- Justin Evans has proven on the field that he deserves to be in the SEC. You could make a case that he had an all-conference first season of SEC football.
- Evans is the hardest hitting quality safety at Texas A&M since Terrence Kiel. The hits he laid on eventual Heisman winner Derrick Henry were vicious.
- If he can wrap up better this season and finish some more tackles, he will take his game to another level. Imagine the jump from year one to year two that a guy like Justin Evans could have.
- There is no reason that he couldn’t be a first round pick. Justin Evans can cover and provides a physical presence, and has shown flashes of being able to create turnovers.
- Evans is the third most talked about guy in the A&M secondary. It may be hard for him to be recognized whenever SEC postseason honors come around, but he will be rewarded handsomely whenever the NFL Draft rolls around.
