I like Richmond Webb's take on Avery. He should be solid at OT.

Notes from Olin's thoughts on Gennesy
- Avery Gennesy seemed to play very well last year although that may not have been a prevailing opinion. He is a great football player who has long arms and a great football IQ.
- It is hard to beat Gennesy one-on-one. He does not give up many sacks. As far as just lining up and a defensive lineman coming straight at him, he is as solid as it gets.
- It was his first year as a starter last year and the only problem he had were the inside stunts that the defensive ends ran against him.
- Avery Gennesy is one heck of a football player. Can he get better? Absolutely, he has only played at this level of college football for a year. Gennesy’s ceiling is very high.
- Will Avery Gennesy be a first round pick? Not necessarily, but he has the ability and the coaching to elevate his game to that level.
Notes from Richmond Webb's thoughts on Gennesy
- Coming in ranked at number eight says a lot about Avery Gennesy’s ability. He plays one of the key positions on the offensive line. He has great feet and long arms and he should have a good year.
- Gennesy is the next up and coming star and he is an anchor on this offensive line. If he can communicate with the rest of the young guys on the line, the Aggies will be successful.
- The only concern with Avery Gennesy transitioning into the second level is getting in a three-point stance based on the type of offense Texas A&M runs. Other than that he is a very solid football player.
- Gennesy will improve tremendously under Coach Jim Turner. He is going to be putting a polish on the finished product. He certainly has first round potential if he continues to play at a high level.
Notes from Jordan Pugh's thoughts on Gennesy
- First of all, Avery Gennesy is right where he needs to be on this list. If we are taking the ‘most important’ angle, he is definitely top three on the entire team.
- The potential he has on the offensive line to be the guy the Aggies run behind, a staple on the line, to be a workhorse, and to protect Trevor Knight is out of this world. His second year in this system should show that the sky is the limit.
- Gennesy is a player that Jim Turner is leaning on to take this offensive line to the next level. The importance and consistency that he brings is huge to this offense.
- His importance to this team is a factor that people do not need to miss. Gennesy is that vital to how this offense flows.
- It is uncommon for a junior college transfer to come in and redshirt but the development that he has had over the past two years has been great.
- Now that he is comfortable in the system after being initially redshirted, he can be a leader on the offensive line who brings stability and a comfort level to the offense.
- Avery Gennesy’s body type and play style show that he is definitely a first rounder in the NFL Draft. He can run, pull, is athletic, and has all of the physical tools. If he can prove himself as a run blocker, that should elevate and solidify a spot in the first round.
Notes from Ty Warren and Alan Weddell's thoughts on Gennesy
- Warren: Willing to bet lunch or push-ups that Gennesy will be one of the best left tackles at A&M since Luke Joeckel. He's a different type of player but has that type of talent.
- Warren: If he was scouting Gennesy, he would make sure to note that he's really fluent and has really active hands on really long arms. He's really good at mirroring guys and keeping guys from going around him. Has great bend in his knees and is always moving.
- Warren: As a defender, if you were scheming to beat Gennesy, a power rush would be the best way to beat him. However, he could still be a high first round pick depending on his play this season.
- Weddell: Gennessy has great potential. He's really only played one year of high-level college football and now he's being coached by the best offensive line coach in America. If I'm an NFL guy, I'm looking at how much better Gennesy will be this time next year and into the future.
