Notes from Olin's thoughts on White

  • Did not have White on his personal top-30 list. White has rushed for about 350 in his two playing years with about half of those coming in three games against lesser competition. Has had some injury issues.

  • Needs to be a guy who doesn't play timid. White is built like the type of guy who needs to play like a sledgehammer. Should pattern his game after Ben Malena. Needs to be the type of guy who can knock a safety out like Malena did against Florida in 2012.

  • White needs to be that sledgehammer back, but at this point, that is not who he is. Not sure you can project him to be better this season because you don't know how many carries he will get over Keith Ford or even Trayveon Williams.

  • Hopes White proves him wrong because from everything he's heard, White is a great guy, a great teammate and great representative of Texas A&M. Needs to change mentality and know for a fact he's tougher than the guy trying to tackle him.

  • Because he has the body he does, White has potential. Has a lot of tools to work with that others do not have and they need to be used.

Olin is right.
James White hasn't done ANYTHING to garner a top 30 player on the team.
I only remember him carrying the ball twice against ASU before getting hurt.
Then scoring on a 1 yard toss play against USC.
That's enough to be one of the top 30 players on the team?
