Aggie Basketball ranked No. 24 in both major polls
One week after a loss at Arizona State dropped Texas A&M from the Associated Press poll, the Aggies' 10-point win over Big 12 foe Kansas State on Saturday landed them at No. 24 in both the AP and USA Today Coaches in Monday's release.
Next up: No. 16 Baylor.
A&M (8-2) dealt K-State its second loss of the season in the 78-68 win at Reed Arena, led by 25 points from Jalen Jones and 13 and 10 from Alex Caruso and Tyler Davis, respectively.
It was the Aggies' second win over a Big 12 foe this season (an 84-73 defeat of Texas in the Bahamas being the first), with games against Baylor and No. 5 Iowa State remaining.
Baylor (7-1), which last week beat then-ranked Vanderbilt, is fresh off a 75-62 defeat of Northwestern State. The Bears play Hardin-Simmons on Wednesday before Saturday's tilt with the Aggies.
Texas A&M joins Kentucky as the SEC's only currently ranked teams in the AP Poll. In the Coaches, No. 23 Vanderbilt and No. 25 South Carolina sandwich the Aggies.
