Kyle Allen named Texas A&M's starter vs. Arizona State
Kevin Sumlin and Texas A&M made it official on Monday by announcing on Twitter that sophomore QB Kyle Allen will get the starting nod in the opener vs. Arizona State in Houston:
Allen was named starter over incoming freshman Kyler Murray and sophomore Jake Hubenak. Allen started five games for A&M in 2014, going 3-2 in that span with wins over ULM, Auburn and West Virginia. He was named the Offensive MVP in the Liberty Bowl, and finished the season with a completion percentage of 61.5%, 17 total touchdowns and seven interceptions.
