A&M basketball receives first AP poll points in 26 weeks
Don't look now, but there may at last be a distraction from the drama that football recruiting in January brings: basketball in Aggieland is back on the upswing.
Riding a four-game conference winning streak to move into a tie for second in the SEC standings, Billy Kennedy's Aggies are back around the ranks of the Associated Press Poll (sort of). A&M is listed with two points in the poll after Ben Frederickson of the Knoxville News Sentinel ranked the Ags 24th.
Not coincidentally, A&M defeated Tennessee in Knoxville on Saturday to move to 13-5 overall and 4-2 in SEC play.
The USA Today Coaches Poll also lists the Aggies as having two votes.
A&M last appeared in the 'Others Receiving Votes' category during Week 4 of the 2013-2014 season, capturing exactly one point during a 6-0 start.
