HOUSTON, Texas — A week of build-up preceded the first meeting in two years between Texas A&M and Texas.

Errors, weak hitting and Daniel Mengden's poor start did the Aggies in against their archrival in Friday's 8-1 defeat. A&M left runners on base in each of the first six innings and Texas scored in each of the first three; as a result, the rest held little to no suspense.
