Billy Kennedy: "I know I am going to be here next year"

listening to this interview made me even angrier at Billy Kennedy.

Progress? false sense of progress. You are back at a "tournament" which was the same one you were invited to and turned it down. I can't believe this "coach" has the gall to use the term progress.

Being at the CBI is like making an F in one course and then retaking that same course and then making a D.

The reality is that there is no progress over the past 3 years. It's like listening to Barack Obama talk about progress. It's all false.

Also, I wonder if the texags radio show would be willing to allow a kennedy critic or potbanger to call into the show. I have a lot to say about kennedy and his terrible job performance here.

I was right about Hyman. He could care less about basketball and the direction is right into oblivion. And IF Kennedy is gone after his contract expires, it will take years, depending on his replacement, to bring the program back, if possible.

Kennedy will take us back.....to where we were before Gillispie.

What in the wide, wide world of sports is the CBI? Is that lower than the NIT? Never heard of it.

This guy is ALL WRONG for this program.

Not knowing the setting when he made this statement, I don't know why would you make such a statement unless you knew your job was in jeopardy.

Of course he knows his job is in jeapordy. He is a bad coach, not stupid.

BK is for safe next year (unfortunately) but if he blows it against wyoming, he could force Hyman's hand.

The fan distaste for BK as a coach is something the AD has not seen in a long, long time.

I agree that BK has underperformed. However, for the guys that think this is a talented basketball roster, even next year, you are watching through maroon glasses.

We do not have anybody in the paint that is a legitimate, back to the basketball 4 or 5 and nobody that can defend the rim on defense.

I put that on BK, as well. I just don't think we are a very talented or good basketball team. Lots of role players but no playmakers.

I'm just not seeing it. I see 2 good players in Jones and Caruso and 1 good prospect in Robinson. Hard to count on a true freshman though. Four of the players on this list might not even be on the team or contribute next year.

One guy blew out his ACL. One guy graduated. One guy can't speak English. One guy apparently has attitude problems and was already sent home for a few games.

The rest of the team is either true freshman, sophomores that didn't do anything or generally poor offensive players.

A&M had one of the worst offensive teams in the nation in terms of efficiency and tempo. We are running the same team back except with more question marks. I hope for Kennedy's sake that Trocha is the next Boogie Cousins and Robinson the next John Wall.

Agree. And this type of roster needs a really talented coach that gets the most out of each player.

Billy knows that he is going to be here again for the 4th year. He now should know that the goal is the NCAA. Nothing less !!!

That was his goal this year as well as last year. What we are seeing today is what we are going to be seeing again next year with the same lame excuses and platitudes for he knows that Hyman is not going to fire him.

Nope. This was a transition year. You don't go to the tournament in transition years.

BK is a turrible coach in Aggieland. 3 years have demonstrated this. Increasingly, Hyman's inaction demonstrates his lack of competence, and how the system gives the ticket-purchaser no ability to hold Hyman or BK accountable. What can you do, buy a ticket, show up and boo?
