Vball: No. 11 Missouri Sweeps Texas A&M 3-0
Coming off a much needed conference victory against Arkansas, the Texas A&M volleyball team stepped into Reed Arena this afternoon in hopes of carrying their momentum against the eleventh ranked Missouri Tigers, a team that’s only lost seven sets all year long.
Despite close attempts in the second and third sets, the Aggies were unable to add another set to the Tigers' list as the black and gold swept the maroon and white 3-0.
“They’re all very efficient attackers, we have some as well,” said Texas A&M Head Coach Laurie Corbelli. “They have a lot of experience. Experience in this game counts for a lot, not everything, but it accounts for a lot because of the pace of the game; those skills that are required from passing to attacking areas and being spot on with what you’re trying to do. Experience helps a lot.”
A lack of experience can certainly be a hurdle, but a fiery Tiger team hitting .374, which ranks first nationally, can provide an entirely different hurdle to jump.
Outscoring A&M 11-9 (3-6) in team kills, assists, and digs, Mizzou 25-0 (9-0) finished the match with a hitting percentage of .347, finishing just shy of their nationally ranked average.
But despite the dominance displayed by Missouri, the Aggies continued to fight, especially the youth.
They have a lot of experience. Experience in this game counts for a lot, not everything, but it accounts for a lot because of the pace of the game; those skills that are required from passing to attacking areas and being spot on with what you’re trying to do. Experience helps a lot.

Sophomore middle blocker, Shelby Sullivan, tied her personal career record in kills, finishing the match with 16, while redshirt freshman MB, Jazzmin Babers, finished the day with 10 kills and five blocks.
Encouraging play by a sophomore and a redshirt freshman along with three true freshman finding time on the court left Corbelli rather encouraged.
“I’m positive that we learned a lot and I know that this team likes to learn from opponents and what other teams can do, so I see us getting better from this match,” said Corbelli.
A young Texas A&M team looks to build upon experience as the team looks forward to No. 5 Florida as the Aggies host the Gators in College Station Sunday November 3rd.
