Texas A&M Football
Chancellor John Sharp
* This stadium - Kyle Field - will be the finest stadium in the country and among the loudest in college football.
* 102,500 was the recommendation from Populous. Glad to hear that it's the largest stadium [in Texas and in the SEC].
* Did not make it a point to be the largest stadium in the state. We do our own thing. We're a young university and growing.
* There are no state dollars in the building of this stadium.
President Dr. R. Bowen Loftin
* Thanks to the BOR and everyone involved. This validates a long process that has been underway since 2008 and culminating today.
* We're seeing a heightened interest in Texas A&M University and that helps us to do many things.
* Commitment the university has to success in football is certainly high. As university continues to grow, demand keeps growing.
Populous Chief Architect Earl Santee
* Two phases of project comes about because of working around football season. Phase one will start after this season.
* Advantage of this plan is that A&M is playing football here for a long, long time and we're not trying to impact that.
* Ongoing programs at G. Rollie White and Read Building and waiting for those to end before demolition. Possibly by this August.
