He was injured his senior season in college, and never fully recovered. The drug use you speak of occurred after his career ended. He's also a great guy, clean and sober, and very happy these days.

5 4, you do realize that Marathon is speaking about a former TEXAS player, not Patrick Bates, don't you? Talk about lost.

Marathon, I'm pretty sure that while injuries did play a part in Sims underachievement, that other factors did also. I'm fairly certain there was an issue of drugs during his career. From everything I've seen and heard, he is clean and sober today.
