What's the good word on this guy. 4 Star so that means he is at least above average, but does he stand out like some of y'all claim some of our "sleepers" do. (We've had some 4 star busts that aren't even on campus anymore)

One of top 2 corners in the state.A major commit for us.

According to Rivals ( take with grain of salt) He is top 4 in the state.

This helps my attitude a lot. Hes a great prospect. I'd like to get one of the safetys left on the board also. Maybe Hewitt.

And of course 1 or both of Lewis and Morgan. If we could lock in those guys this defensive class would start looking really salty.

The guys at Orangebloods have spoken very highly of him. Apparently he really blew up after a great showing at one of the camps. This is a BIG pickup.

bullard, I disagree but that's not a slight at Malcolm. I just think when healthy that Hewitt is a salty CB.

No one knows for sure on Shankle and LSU...Hewitt seems to be doing all the talking.

As far as Jordan Pugh is concerned, he is on the DC second team super team defense (Williams is on his first team). I read on another site to think "Devin Gregg" in comparison to Pugh. If that's the case, we just scored BIG TIME.

You know outrigger, I like Pugh better than Gregg because of Pugh's coverage abilities and super speed. I think Gregg end up at safety after a RS year.

I don't put too much into DCTF Magazine. It's a good list but usually has plenty of head scratchers!

Gregg isnt going to redshirt and will play corner this upcoming season.

machew, true but he usually has some kids way overrated and also misses on some kids that should be in there.

bullard, I guess we'll see. I'm not blown away by Gregg and I think he'll struggle as a CB. Gorrer I liked coming out of HS and knew he'd make a smooth transition to CB.

Gregg's hips aren't very fluid and he doesn't have great closing speed. I do think Gregg could be a great (Like all BigXII type) safety though!

Don't get me wrong, I really like Gregg but not as a CB.

ktamut, contrary to what you're being told Cooper's injury was major and serious. He's had a couple setbacks and his Sr. year in HS is up in the air.

Hewitt's injury I believe was at the end of the year but wasn't as severe as Cooper's.

lj, Gregg is your Westbrook type CB. Very physical, and can cover. He has great closing speed as seen in the recent All Star game. Gregg loves contact, and was making a lot of tackles in that game. He and DE Dixon stood out in that game. I haven't seen video yet on Pugh, but all the reports are that he has great coverage skills. This could be a very good defensive class if we can land Lewis, and or Morgan.

Hewitt's injury was serious but he appears to be recovering. I believe Cooper's injury was much earlier and I've heard he is still on crutches. Hope he makes it back b/c he had superstar potential.

Yeah the Houston area MVP on Defense can't hold a candle to Westbrook. Gregg, Coffman, and Dixon are the 3 most physical DBs we have recruited since Kiel.

83, I respectfully disagree on Gregg and I attended the Bayou Bowl (Stallworth Stadium - Baytown) since it's probably 15 min's from my house.

I saw alot of things I liked on Gregg but it only reinforced my thoughts on him.

It's just my opinion though and I enjoy our discussions 83!

The state of the union on Cornerbacks is fast improving at A&M. Pugh, Williams, Gregg, Gorrer, Bryson, Carpenter, Peterson, and Dixon are fast improving a key position for us. We enjoyed a luxury at the position in the halcion days of the 90's with Mickens, Glenn, Smith, and Davis. I see Fran and Torbush's efforts paying big dividends in the future.

Cooper should be okay for the Fall; he will not be pushed to the point of making his knee worse.
