for those that don't know much about Trey Williams:
Dekaney is in 13-5A in the Spring area north of Houston. They play against the big boys and a lot of D1 talent like the Klein schools (e.g. Charles Jackson at Klein Collins, Nathan Hughes at Klein Oak, Eric Rowe at Klein), in addition to playing teams like Westfield and Spring High. Last season, they also played tough non-district games against the likes of Marshall and Nimitz. Against this competition, Trey Williams rushed for 2290 yards on 251 attempts (9.12 yds/att) and scored 20 TDs as a Jr. As a sophomore on varsity at Dekaney, Trey rushed for 1930 yards on 237 attempts (8.14 yds/att) and scored 18 TDs.

This kid ran a 4.2 second forty at an LSU camp last summer.
Might want to play baseball and football in college.
Coached by Willie Amendola, who has a son that played at BU (Matt) and another one that played at iTT (Danny – now with St. Louis Rams). Amendola didn’t coach his sons’ high school teams, but he has coached numerous D1 scholarship players over the years. I think he also coached Dante Hall when he was HC at Nimitz.
Sip fans, realizing that they probably aren’t going to get him, are already smearing this kid, alleging that his recruitment is being “handled” by a “street agent” because he is being promoted
here, along with a bunch of other familiar Houston-area D1 caliber names from the 2011 and 2012 classes. Of course, the high and mighty whorns will claim that Mack doesn’t deal with street agents (even though tu is actively recruiting Trey as well and even though past tu players went through these little promotion & workout start-ups trying to make a buck off of high school players (
exhibit A- Greg Timmons). They’ll eventually claim that Mack backed off. For now, they’ll claim that Mack deals directly with the kids, while dirty A&M and others deal with the street agent so the poor, poor sips are at such an unfortuate disadvantage.
I’ve seen a few interviews with Trey. This kid seems very smart and is handling his recruitment the right way. He’s been watching and keeping track of how many carries Cyrus & C-Mike have been getting, how the coaches used them early in games, etc.
Trey attended a camp at LSU last summer and visited unofficially for the LSU/Bama game. He visited Auburn unofficially last summer as well. I’m not sure where else he’s been. For A&M, he attended the FIU and Nebraska games in 2010, as well as an A&M Jr day in late January 2011.
As mentioned, Trey attended that badass Nebraska game on 11.20.2010. He can be seen
here in the locker room at the 5:53 mark, enjoying the post-game celebration with the players and coaches during the unofficial visit. Here are some of the things he had to say about that game:
quote:
It was amazing. I can definitely see myself playing in that environment and atmosphere. The students were so load and they got me hyped. I knew it was going to be crazy against Nebraska. The FIU game was hype and that wasn’t even a big game, so I knew this would be crazy. This game took the LSU/Bama game.
quote:
The coaches were all hyped up and excited. They said they could see me here and I told them I could see myself playing in front of that crowd, too.
quote:
A&M is definitely high on my list, at the very top, but I’m still going to take my time and take my visits and see what happens.
This kid is a special talent, fellas. A true difference-maker. I really, really want to see Trey in M&W next year.

"Remember why you went to A&M. It's life after the game. ...and I was fortunate to see the big picture then, and knowing that, 'hey this game is going to end, if you get to play, great! If not, get that education'. A&M is a fraternity after school and the network is unbelievable." - Dat Nguyen
