i see a problem in that we have so many quality rb's. It is definately not a problem, but that may be his biggest turnoff.

CMike may not see as much pt early on with two stud sophs in gray and stephens

no paid subscription here either but just seems logical that he is withholding his commitment while waiting to see if he receives a committable offer from the national champs. i also believe that the recruiting war(s) won't truly be over until january and the on-field successes of the teams involved could be very influential.

bornagainaggie, I don't think the depth charts at LSU are any more "welcoming" for a stud freshman than ours. Not too mention the other running backs they have in this recruiting class.

In 01 we had Hightower who was a 5 star, or at least he was for most of the year, he may have lost a star late in what was one of the first "Ketch-burnt orange conspiracies" Byron Jones was also borderline that same year.

00 - Adam Black may have been, he was considered one of the 2-3 best DB's

99 - Warren, Davis, Reuber & Weber were all top 5 at their position

Where does this "We are CM's second choice" stuff come from? I don't have a paid recruiting subscription, but everything I have read has Michael saying that if signing day were tomorrow, he would be an Ag because he likes the school and staff. Are there any quotes from him saying that he would commit to LSU if offered?

He has said in a few interviews that he slightly favors LSU to us even though LSU hasn't really given him a committable offer.

According to their rivals site, they did not sign a single rb in 2007 or 2008. They did have a lot of ath's.

Where we have signed two stud rb's the last two years. He will have to fight for PT his first couple of years. IMO

CM is superior to the rb they have signed for 09 now. And Pratt will be a lb.

Is there a link? I am not saying this isn't true, I just wonder why so many people believe that he's gone as soon as LSU offers.

I admittedly don't follow recruiting as close as some, so I probably just have not seen it. I understand if it's pay info and you can't post it on a free site.

Think about this. LSU is slow playing him (and has been for months) and he doesn't have a legitimate offer from LSU at this point. Yet he still lists them in his top two. It sounds like that guy in high school that was in love with a girl, no matter how poorly she treated him.

This is what I was trying to figure out regarding LSU being Michael's first choice. I didn't know if this was a hard fact (as in a quotation from CM) or something that everybody was just inferring on their own because he was still showing some interest in LSU.

Thanks for the info texaggie. That is what I was looking for. Sounds like we have some work to do to land CM, but I am still feeling good about seeing him in the Maroon and White next year.

Recruiting is a funny animal. I like our chances with CM, but he's already proven to be an 18-year old wishy-washy kid whose committed and decommitted twice. He says he wants to be close to home, but who knows? He may explode his senior year, get more attention from bigger programs and decide being close to home isn't that big of a deal. I actually think the longer CM goes uncommitted, the WORSE for A&M.

How much more attention does the #4 RB in the country with his fifth star need?

C M 40% (Dependent upon no new offers)
