They also beat Creighton 3-1 very recently. I'm excited for this outcome but I don't think anyone could have expected this with what we were missing

I had a high school match tonight so I missed this. Can somebody give some cliff notes? I'm looking at the box score and I know both Sharp and Castle were out and it looks like Stano and Adedji fill the MB roles. But I see talk of Morris playing 6 rotations? Looks like Fitch had a lot of kills. Where was she playing tonight? OH? Did Ring come out? I guess I could watch a replay lol.

Coach Morrison and his staff's player development philosophy is key to this team's success. It includes training all players to be ready when called on to contribute for all phases of the game. This leads to player confidence and teamwork when playing matches.

Adeji was solid. Fitch was on fire. Morris had several successful back row attacks. Lots of digs for Fitch and Morris. Kendall was Kendall. Gabi was her usual incredible self. Off night for Ring.

Rices first four pts of Game 3 were our service errors. Game 2 we obliterated them out of the gate. Game 1 was tight while we got our bearings and the only real competitive game.

and one of the greatest things I love about this staff is they have shown each season that the team will continue to improve and only get stronger as the season progresses. We see many teams hit lulls or fade towards the end of November and the Ags are rolling! Our best volleyball is yet to come!

Personally I love that all 13 coaches and staff members take the time to saw 'em off together after a win. (Ok Jamie is usually in the stands with the Rowdies)

Even Eliza Sharp in her boot walked up a couple rows to saw them off

Good post-game interview to watch. Several girls we don't hear much from. It shows what kind of character Jamie brings to the team.

I was wondering if he'd rotate more people in the 3rd set, like Lily Nicholson, etc. since you were up 2-0, sorta experiment a little and if it goes bad, you have the 4th to close it out.

This staff wants to build something special here and they understand how to do that. Our students love Jamie because he includes them and doesn't act like they owe him something. Every match you hear them chanting his name. It is awesome to watch.

Jamie deferred to the students on a challenge, he wanted to challenge a call and the student talked him out of it

That's awesome. I saw him smiling and interacting with someone after that play but didn't realize it was the student section. Love it!!

Where has this back row attack been all season??

Morris doesn't normally play in the back row.

Morris backrow play was a very pleasant surprise. Not just the attacks, but defense. I didn't know she had that in her game at that level. She was mainly hitting bics but had a couple D sets (a la Lednicky) which is a great to see as a potential option in the 5-1 when needed. If nothing else, putting that on film will make other teams have to prepare for it. Pick your poison.

Did anyone hear/see the testosterone-filled Rice fan (a dad I assume) sitting in 103 last night? The guy was intermittently verbally abusing his own team and the officials. He honestly really didn't do it TOO much but he absolutely flipped his **** on the last call that got overturned late in the third set.

He was standing in the handicapped area at the back by the aisle between 103 and 104, about 10 feet from my wife and me (watching from our coveted "bathroom accessible" season ticket seats). That guy was totally off the rails. He was so wound up that I was guessing he was an obsessed dad, but parent or fan; with "supporters" like that, Rice doesn't need any enemies.

Met plenty of parents like that in our club days. They usually know to stand away from the other parents so they can complain about the teammates without anyone hearing. They will often stand on the other side annoying the parents on the other team. Sounds just like this guy.

Morris from the back row was ELITE! She was hitting nukes so effortlessly. It's funny because I don't always think she has a super powerful swing as a right side though she has been very effective, but watching her fly from behind the 3 meter line and just smashing the volleyball from the back row just really surprised me. She played great defense last night as well but with a healthy roster I don't see her getting a lot of time in the backrow. We will see though because that back row attack is something we haven't done a ton of this year.

With our slides the defense is already spreading their focus around so back row was not as urgently needed, but it will be great to mix this in more often. Coach stated something similar last night.

If Addi/Kaia are still out we will likely see more of this on Sunday.

We might also have some rotations with Taryn/Kirra/OH up front and no MB. Taryn was originally a MB and has great reach and instincts.

That was as good of a libero performance last night as I've seen in a long damn time. Understanding it was Rice and balls aren't coming quite as fast and as precise as they will in SEC play, but if Gabi can do that in conference then she's our next All American. She put on a clinic.

And Kirra and Ring need to figure out how to get on the same page at some point here quickly. Early in the season, Kirra was low setting everyone on the outside and hitters were having trouble with their timing. She started putting some more air under the ball with Kendyl, Fitch, Morris, etc and the offense dramatically improved...everyone except for Ring which she's still low/flat setting. Which tells me it's a Ring preference...and not a coach's or strategic directive. Whatever it is, they need to figure it out or Ring will continue to be ineffective and frustrated and we need Ring at her best to finish top 4-5 in conference.
