SMU and Sam Erger seem to be at it again with the poaching, USC's setter leaves the program and starts following all the SMU coaches and staff. This winter break SMU paid a pretty penny to Kentucky's back up setter. Apparently a lot of movement will be taking place in the Big 10 as well

There is expected to be a lot of movement with Wisconsin, Creighton, and Indiana, 3 teams we play this next season

I didn't know there was a spring transfer portal. Makes sense for players who weren't sure of their situation going into the spring.

side topic: would Morrison take a Babcock-type player? One that demands all of the attention and the team revolves around. She's an incredible player.

We do already have three setters though so very unlikely in my opinion. Not sure if there's any mutual interest between TAMU and her.

But that leaves us with only 4 true outside hitters in Kyndal Stowers, Natalie Ring, Megan Fitch, Amare Hernandez and 16 on the roster. I wonder if we go after anyone for depth

Huh, interesting that Bowcutt is transferring. Does anyone know if Incinelli and Patton in the upcoming class were recruited as MBs or OHs? From what I've seen they're listed as both, and if we recruited them as middles that means the pipeline for OH is pretty dry.

Interesting development, curious to see what happens.

We do have two roster openings now, but keep in mind we have commits for 2027 including several elite ones and only two seniors on the team. If the new eligibility rules pass for 2027+ season I believe only Natalie will complete her eligibility in the fall since this is her fifth year after high school (she had a redshirt year).

As for OH from portal - it would have to be someone ok not starting this year, and competing with Fitch/Hernandez for playing time. But with Bowcutt exiting I think its now possible for a pin transfer in especially if they have 2+ years of eligibility remaining.

I suspect Morrison and staff view them as elite players vs a specific role right now. If I had to guess Incinelli will see more time at OH and Patton at MB.
