I forgot how tense that first set vs Pitt was. We were very close to losing it at the end. We gave them a free ball and their right side hitter absolutely hammered it. Luckily Applegate made a very nice well placed dig that we immediately converted into a point.

I went back to the Campbell match to take some stills of the contested lines calls. Remember there were 7 contested judgement calls. mostly line calls- in/out.
In NFHS, we don't get the luxury of a replay.
For my own piece of mind, I wanted visual proof of what we were taught years ago that if ANY part of the ball touched the line the ball was "in:.

In general, when trainers explain the in/out, they ignore what constitutes "any part of the ball".
Is it the size of a quarter or the whole ball? Video indicates the latter. I love video.

As I recall, all of the challenged calls in the Campbell match were reversed. Don't think I've ever seen that.

like I said in another post- sometimes the officials get caught up in the game and become spectators. same sequence, LV player takes a shot in the chest and the ball came to rest before she launched it over her head. not multiple contacts but possible illegal hit....

You thought Campbell was more difficult than Nebraska Pitt and Kentucky ?

The only thing difficult about the Campbell match was the line judging

I got some good screen shots for lines ppl and a couple of blurry others. the "prolonged contact" on KEN. and the over the net call (which I actually disagree with) in the Neb match. At least from the camera angle, it appeared the ball entered the plane of the net.
