What are the chances of it ever moving beyond club level and becoming a varsity sport in the SEC and at TAMU?
Legit question. I'm not an expert on this.

After I became enchanted by our volleyball team this year I started wondering what a men's game would look like. I did a YouTube search and found a replay of the men's olympic team vs Japan from a few years ago. I know that a men's college game wouldn't be like that, but I found it hard to follow. The ball is hit so hard and most of the volleys are pretty short. I didn't enjoy it as much.
Their serves were impressive. It looked like they would toss the ball about 20 feet high and hit it on a full run. But I think the women's game is more fun to watch.
could they just raise the net even more?flintdragon said:
Honestly, they need to change the game of volleyball for men. I don't know how. It is boring unless you just like raw power. Everyone serves hard. Every set is perfect. I'm slightly exaggerating but it's just not enjoyable.

If you'd played men's volleyball at a high level, or lived overseas and grew up with it, you'd understand how awesome it is.
Similar to men's tennis which is all power and serves.
However, because the general public has no idea how this works, they gravitate to the woman's game - same as tennis for many.

All the above makes sense, particularly the financial limitations. But also, where would you find players. Does Texas have boys volleyball?
Having to recruit all the players from out of state isn't much incentive.
