"A peer-reviewed paper published by the Journal of the American Medical Association concluded that immunity against the omicron coronavirus variant fades rapidly after a second and third dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine.

The research by Danish scientists published in JAMA Network Open on Friday found antibody responses fell within weeks after second and third Pfizer doses, Forbes reported.

The proportion of antibodies dropped from 76% four weeks after the second shot to 19% at weeks 12 to 14. The antibodies dropped even faster after the third dose, the booster shot.

Between the third and eighth week, antibodies fell 5.4-fold for omicron.

Last week, in a segment on "Good Morning America," ABC News chief medical correspondent Dr. Jennifer Ashton warned it's possible that repeated boosting actually can weaken the immune system."

Question now is should we continue to push boosters onto the general population? Even those in the high risk age bracket, how much more protection will the boosters offer?

Pfizer has reported a 92% operational growth in revenue to $81.3bn for the full year 2021, compared with $41.7bn for the full year 2020.

Moderna announced today 2021 third quarter sales of US$5 billion worldwide. The corporation's sales year to date for 2021 were $11.3 billion, with up to $18 billion forecasted for the whole year from the COVID-19 mRNA vaccine alone. This vaccine was developed with significant public funding.

Those are impressive numbers. Awesome P&Ls indeed.

Insane numbers for a company like Moderna, who has never brought a successful product to market, except under EUA.

They created a vaccine that has saved millions of lives and is fully approved by the FDA.

What's insane about generating profit along with it?

Did they say that they were grateful for being fully vaccinated and boosted when they told you about their positive test?

The American taxpayer funded the R&D and the "free" vaccines themselves. You think it's okay they get to take all the profits?

I don't know about the rest of the world, but the US government is vaccinating hundreds of thousand of people from Mexico. Every day for months at various smaller POEs there are dozens of tour and school busses full of people from Mexico being vaccinated for "free" and the companies are profiting from this. I am sure this is going on all over the world as well.

Not really. The dead virus COVID vaccines don't work. Ask China.

The mRNA vaccines last about 4-5 months against illness and especially hospitalization. Their polyclonal technology allows them to still have efficacy against variants.

Now that the variants are subvariants of subvariants, staying vaccinated with booster (which will be tweaked) I expect peaks in cases and especially hospitalizations to decrease.

Per Walgreens, vaccinated people have a higher positivity rate than the unvaccinated. Seems to support the OP.

Taxpayers fund the development of most medical therapies, as the functional components of most drugs and vaccines created in labs at least partial funded by federal grants. Pharmaceutical companies exist largely to allow you to actually have access to the creations.

He said nothing about dead vaccines. We're talking about effectiveness, which is the word you are looking for, not efficacy.

You are also wrong. The original shots do diddly squat and the boost is no help either. Israel did a study and found no difference against Omicron for those that got the 4th boost and those who did not. So no, they do pretty much nothing - as he rightfully stated in his analogy - for current variants.

Yeah...all that is known and nothing you said was groundbreaking....

How many drugs have their research AND intake is paid for by the govt and are also widely mandated?
