So, if we agree that natural immunity is a good reason to not further increase the risk of myocarditis by getting the shots, it is also reasonable to conclude that the shots alone are likely safer than actual Covid when it comes to myocarditis risk. And, since everyone is going to get Covid, if you haven't had it yet, the shots are a better option than the disease when it comes to myocarditis risk.

I agree myocarditis risk may be greater from Covid then the vaccine, but I think it should be considered that the vaccine may wear off or multiple vaccines are required which may increase the myocarditis risk for each shot and then you may still get Covid after vaccination. Is each individual risk of myocarditis after each shot and after getting Covid greater than the risk of Covid myocarditis?

I would also assume multiple Covid infections after the first for vax and non-vax would be equivalent myocarditis risks (so no need to add these additional risks to both cases).

During the 28-day risk period after a positive SARS-CoV-2 test, there were 73 myocarditis cases. Excess events of myocarditis were 3.26 (95% CI, 1.90-4.61) events per 100000 individuals with a positive test result among all males, and 1.37 (95% CI, 0.14 to 2.87) events per 100000 individuals with a positive test result among males aged 16 to 24 years (eTable 7 in the Supplement).

Myocarditis risk from Vaccine:
Among males 16 to 24 years of age, the excess number of myocarditis events per 100000 vaccinees in the 28-day risk periods after the first dose of BNT162b2 was 1.55 (95% CI, 0.70-2.39) events and after the second dose was 5.55 (95% CI, 3.70-7.39) events, and it was 1.75 (95% CI, 0.20 to 3.71) events after the first dose of mRNA-1273 and 18.39 (95% CI, 9.05-27.72) events after the second dose (Table 2).

The risk of myocarditis is the most prominent in boys age 16 to 24 years. This is where parents need to be extra careful.

I've looked and it is very difficult to find any hard data on COVID induced myocarditis. I advise my healthy patients to not get vaccinated or at least to space the vaccines by at least 6 months.

Exactly. Unless the COVID vaccine prevents/reduces risk of myocarditis, doesn't taking the vaccine INCREASES your chance of myocarditis risk, because you can still catch COVID? I have seen NO concrete evidence that the COVID vaccine has any effect in reducing myocarditis risk. (If you can provide proof that the vaccine DOES reduce myocarditis risk then I stand corrected.)

To be fair, I don't think they are arguing/believing that the vaccine can prevent COVID. I'm sure everyone knows by now that the vaccine cannot prevent COVID. CDC confirmed that fact. I think they are arguing that the vaccine could potentially mitigate the risk of myocarditis. To which I countered that there is no substantial proof. But there IS proof that the vaccine could increase myocarditis risk and quite substantially for certain age groups.

Let me ask my question a different way. What are the odds / risks in children of long-term health problems, hospitalization, and death? It's my understanding they are VERY, VERY small. How can the vaccine benefits FAR outweigh such a small number?
