Tested positive 8 days ago after wife and daughter got it. All of us ar unvaccinated. I was the last one to test positive (about a week after my wife).

Symptoms have been fever, headache, chills, body aches, cough (started about 5 day in), and no appetite.

Doc prescribed the same vitamins we've seen on this board along with Ivermectin, Budesonide (optional), and hydroxychloroquine (said to help absorb zinc).

Lost my sense of smell around day five. My taste is diminished but still have some.

I've got the bad, metallic taste in my mouth and no appetite.

First two days were the above symptoms and then things got better. Around day 6, symptoms returned. Then Saturday I felt pretty good. Yesterday fever returned. I've also got an itchy throat cough that lingers.

This virus is strange b/c just when I think I'm getting over it, fever and headache return.

Anyway, curious how long it took for others who went through this to get through it. Doc said it's like a 2 week flu, so I guess I'm on course for that. My wife beat it in about 8-9 days and my 11 year old showed no symptoms.

You're on the downhill side. Took a good two weeks for me and my wife to begin to feel normal. Fatigue, loss of smell and taste, and congestion hung on after isolation. I will say this, it's not like any flu we have ever had. Our doctor threw the proverbial "kitchen sink" at it, and "Thanks be to God" we got through it! Pray you do, too!

Thanks. Agree. It's the lingering that is strange. I stopped taking vitamins and meds around day five b/c I just had absolutely no appetite and even drinking water was a task.

That probably wasn't wise, but I was wondering if the medications were effecting my appetite.

Appetite will come back, but we had the same thing. Bad thing, we put the lost pounds back on in no time!

It's the weirdest damn virus. I'm sure one day we will have answers why it affects certain people in certain ways, but others in totally different ways (or not at all).

This is what makes anecdotal stories on "effective" treatments so worthless.

My in-laws had Covid early on back when the treatment was to go home drink water and come back to ER if your O2 level drops to the low 90s. They pretty much had same symptoms and course of infection you are describing. Gradual improvement, then return of fever headache and cough. It took them both about 20 days to finally get back to feeling normal and taste and smell came back a few weeks after that.

I'll echo it being weird. Tylenol did next to nothing against the sinus headache, but it melted like butter when I switched to ibuprofen.

The respiratory virus manifested in me as the squirts, chills, and screwy sinuses. Wife just had the squirts and an actual low-grade fever. Our kids were a bit clingy for a day or two. Two of our neighbors have died.

Weird, weird virus.

Man made viruses seem to behave strangely. I hope I never get it, but probably will at some point.

Nothing strange at all about that. Ibuprofen targets inflammation; Tylenol does not. Tylenol is good at being toxic and useless for most things except fever. I wouldn't touch it for pain unless ibuprofen had already failed.
94chem,
That, sir, was the greatest post in the history of TexAgs. I salute you. -- Dough

Just the weird cycle of the virus makes it seem manmade or altered by man. My symptoms were mild aside from complete loss of smell and most taste, but I felt a little sluggish here and there. A few days in I felt back to 100%, make that 120%...then I'd wake up the next morning and feel tired and achy, like I had a crick in my neck, and just want to sleep in. With some friends and family members the cycle was more extreme and more prolonged. Like it would come and go. I'll never understand it.

OP same here, Dr put me on HCQ, Zinc, Doxy, Ivermectin (human consumption pills) Vitamins, etc.. nothing serious, felt tired a few days and kind of lingered around about 7 to 8 days.. no stomach issues, just slight head ache, really just get rest, I had it during the Bama game week and ended up missing the game just because didnt want to spread it. I can tell you that I had the flu about 5 years ago and it knocked me on my arse about 3 to 4 days.. this stuff wasn't bad at all to me.. I am glad to see these Drs are prescribing treatments that are working. Hope you get well

Yeah, I'm on the tail end of it. But my taste and smell are jacked up. I constantly smell a strange smell and have the metallic taste in my mouth. That might be the worst of my symptoms and hopefully it's not long-term.

It took me about 3 weeks to finally kick it. The 3rd week was really more about recovery. I was still week but my o2 levels started going up finally.

Same as you, my doctor prescribed ivermectin, hydroxy..., and a few other medicines that I can't pronounce or spell on top of all the vitamins I was taking. It wasn't until after day 14 that I felt like I had turned the corner. On top of that, I walked all the time even when I was tired. Many friends told me to walk, so I did
