Vaccine After Covid - Need Dr. Opinion

I had a pretty severe case of Covid in March 2020 (hospitalized for a few days with pneumonia). I have not been vaccinated, but I now have a work mandate requiring full vaccination by December. I was antibody tested in August 2021 and had high antibody levels (N Proten: 100, S Protein > 2500). I tried to file for medical exemption, but it doesn't look like that will be approved.

Given my history and antibody levels, is there any reason (in terms of safety) that I shouldn't get the vaccine? If I do have to get the vaccine, is there a recommendation on which one I should take in my case?

Also, has anyone on here had the vaccine after having a severe case of Covid and, if so, which vaccine did you take and did you have any issues?

Very frustrated by the situation, and trying to figure out the best path forward.

Thank you!

I have the same frustrating situation

I got Covid last year, hospitalized and on the Vent for a week, recovered, tested positive for antibodies multiple times since, up to and including this month.

PCP says I don't need the vaccine. He said it won't help and likely won't hurt, so it's up to me.

Work published the mandate a week ago which requires almost immediate vaccination to comply by the Dec 8th date. The exception/exemption policy is a joke with weekly testing paid for by the employee even with Doctor's note. Proven and tested natural immunity is not considered in any way.

My wife and kids won't get near it but I feel like I have no choice.

I 'elected' to get the JnJ shot yesterday and have had no significant side effects since.

I may lose some highly irreplaceable staff and team members as some folks have more immediate options than I.

Sorry you're in this situation. The political and scientific leadership cannot handle nuance to these conversations.

Quick update:
Took then JnJ 430pm Tuesday.
First 24 hours no issues beyond arm soreness
Since yesterday, I've experienced increasing back pain, starting from the lower back/kidney area and moving up to middle, upper back. It's pretty bad at this stage and doesn't seem to be muscle or spine oriented. It may not be directly related but I can't think of anything else that happened. I have a Dr. Appt today to discuss this among other things.

You drinking enough water? Start of a kidney stone? Is your diet good? Good luck.

Would love to hear any thoughts on this as I am also in the same situation. It is so frustrating that natural antibodies are completely ignored in the conversation.

In my case, the back pain subsided for the most part by Friday afternoon.
No history of kidney stones but I have had, what I think are, periodic (maybe one every 18-24 months) gallbladder attacks. Doctor took some X-Rays which may have revealed some gallstones, which could explain the backpain.
And he put me on Ciprofloxacin though I didn't really understand why.
I've only used that antibiotic on my trips to India to counter my inevitable GI issues.

I go back next week for an Ultrasound and a CAT scan.
Also took a bunch of blood to run some tests though again, I didn't fully understand what he was looking for.

Discomfort is manageable at this stage.

Thanks for checking on me

Get your gallbladder taken out. Your quality of life will improve. I waited till I had a severe attack.
