I just started losing a decent amount of hair this month. When I get out of the shower and dry off I noticed a good amount of hair in the towel. I'm 37 and losing it in the back anyhow but I've always had nice thick hair on top and in the front.

I read some bad illnesses or fevers can cause this. I had vivid back in June. Bad enough where I had to jump on O2 for a few days. Four months later I'm noticing some hair loss. Anyone else?

Hair loss is pretty common among people with Covid. Apparently covid shocks the system which causes Telogen Effluvium. If you were already losing your hair, then it will just accelerate your hair loss. The good news is that the hair will grow back.

Im a 36 year old male and lost a lot of hair last year a few months after getting covid. Same thing happened with my male cousin. If you go on the covid long hauler survivor group on facebook you will see a ton of people share their hair loss experiences. Some women report they lost 50% of their hair. Its pretty crazy.

The crazy thing is the pfizer vaccine did the same thing to me, it accelerated my hair loss. Ive seen reports of this happening to others as well. This is why I refuse to get a 3rd booster shot or another covid vaccine again lol.

I am a female and had a pretty bad case of covid in March 2020. A couple months later, I started having hair loss that went on for maybe six months. It was pretty drastic and my hair was noticeably thin, but it went back to normal after that.

This is pretty consistent with what I experienced. I started losing a lot of hair 2-3 months after I got COVID. It lasted for about 4-6 months.

Have you had your thyroid checked? Covid might possibly have changed the functioning of it. Hair loss is also associated with a thyroid nor functioning properly.

No, I havent gotten it checked but hair loss is also a common symptom of covid.

No, planning on getting one in December. Wanted to let my antibodies work and give me time to research the best vaccine.

No judgement here. I was just going to say the vax could cause it too, but ea1060 already mentioned it.

If you experienced hair loss with covid, then I think theres a good chance you will experience hair loss with the vaccine as well. I have no evidence to support this, but its just a hunch based on my own personal experience.

If you do get the vaccine, maybe get the J&J one. Seems to have less side effects.

I lost quite a bit of hair when I first got out of the hospital with COVID. It has slowed down some, but it's still more than usual.

I had long healthy fine hair, but a lot of it. (Female) After a rough bout with covid I started losing clumps of hair and it was breaking off. I had never experienced this before. I started taking Viviscal Pro. I take the supplement twice a day. Anyway, I have stopped shedding and my hair seems to be growing back in slowly, but surely. For the record I took regular Viviscal and it didn't seem to help me much, but when I switched to the pro level I noticed an improvement. I was using a quality shampoo/conditioner before, but now use the entire line of Aveda Botanical Repair. That has helped a great deal as well. (With breakage) Just FYI for any ladies with long hair who don't want to cut their hair off to start over

I had covid in March 2020 and experienced hair loss for about 6 months afterwards. I have thick long hair and it came out in my hair brush and in the shower, but fortunately no noticeable bald spots.

I did not experience it after getting my JnJ vaccine in March 2021.
