I'm not looking for an argument and would really appreciate some advice from some doctors on this board. So I have a mandate from my emoyer that I have to get Vaxed by Dec. 8th. We are a Fed contractor. I recently recovered from Covid. Was symptom free late September. Is there any kind of health risk to getting vaccinated under 90 days after getting Covid? I did have one doctor tell me to wait 90 day, but I wasn't sure what the reason was.

Not a doctor, but it seems like the risk of getting the shot after Covid is increased side effects from shot.

1. Do you have a family doctor?
2. If yes, ask him and follow his advice.
3. If no 1. then find one and follow 2.

I'm in the process of doing that, but it takes forever
I'd like to see if any doctors on this forum could provide some insight. Ok with you?

No risk to getting vaccinated <90 days after infection. I know people that got vaccinated 2 weeks after infection, against recommendations.

That being said, you'd want at least one month after infection to get your first shot for it to do the most good for your immune system. I would also then push the second shot out by at least 2 months, if not longer.

One thing covid has shown me is that many people don't have a personal/family physician that they have a trusted relationship with. I find that somewhat stunning.

No increased risk in getting the vaccine any time after COVID unless you got a monoclonal antibody treatment, then you have to wait 90 days as those antibodies essentially will block the vaccine from working properly.

Every doctor I've ever been to to try and establish care broke out their Rx pad about 4 seconds after showing up. I finally went to one about 6 months back. We made it to the end of the checkup/get to know you session before she whipped out the Rx pad. May have to actually go back to her someday.

I did get the regeneron infusion mid September. I think it was the 20th. So if I got a vaccine in late November you're saying it would do nothing for me?

Correct, wait 90 days from the infusion.

From the CDC:

Yes, you should be vaccinated regardless of whether you already had COVID-19 because:
  • Research has not yet shown how long you are protected from getting COVID-19 again after you recover from COVID-19.
  • Vaccination helps protect you even if you've already had COVID-19.
Evidence is emerging that people get better protection by being fully vaccinated compared with having had COVID-19. One study showed that unvaccinated people who already had COVID-19 are more than 2 times as likely than fully vaccinated people to get COVID-19 again.
If you were treated for COVID-19 with monoclonal antibodies or convalescent plasma, you should wait 90 days before getting a COVID-19 vaccine. Talk to your doctor if you are unsure what treatments you received or if you have more questions about getting a COVID-19 vaccine.

Thank you so much. I just sent all this to HR.

I'm absolutely furious that some beauracrat in HR is now getting in the middle of my Healthcare decisions.

Honestly you need to ask around then and look for another doctor unless you truly need a prescription. I'm 50yo and overweight, bloodwork recently came back with two "treatable" issues. Treatable by lifestyle changes and/or by medicine. My doctor: I'd really like for you to make some changes. If you won't make those changes, let's talk about the possibility of a prescription. But, I'd really like for you to make some changes even if I do write a prescription.
This is my second long-term physician as an adult. Whenever I really want a prescription prescribed, I go to an urgent care or call an online doctor. My personal physicians are always much less eager to write a scrip.

The CDC is nothing more than a political arm of the federal administrative state. It considers gun control to be a health issue and no longer considers women the only group of people capable of becoming pregnant.

Pardon me for not taking CDC guidance at face value.

It am double vaxxed and considering getting the booster too but that sounds like some bullcrap to me.

I know a bunch of people that have recovered from Covid and a bunch of people that are fully vaccinated. I know one Covid recovered person that got it again and I know several vaccinated people that had breakthrough cases. I understand the small sample size of the people I know that share their covid status, but I've seen reports that line up more with what I have observed.
