First, the studies aren't being conducted by 3 letter government agencies.
Second, science is most definitely not my God, but it is a valuable tool for separating the wheat from the chaff, i.e., anecdotal stories from reliable results. Our entire modern system of medicine is based on reliable studies and trials, and they are what has allowed us to finally get rid of stuff like "bleeding" as a cure for sickness.
Finally, note that there have also been many anecdotal stories on this website of people who did take ivermectin early but nevertheless became severely ill.
I'm not at all against ivermectin. In fact, months ago I sought out a doctor who prescribed it and then bought some, just in case. However, my mind was changed by the facts - i.e., study after study showing that ivermectin does not make much of a difference with Covid.
