Johnson & Johnson the least effective?

Which is the best option?

Every article I've read in the last 2 months touts Moderna by a decent margin.

Thanks. Do you know if any seem to be having less side effects, or is it just a crapshoot? Meaning some respond differently to each vaccine.

Everything I hear is Moderna is the most effective vaccine and has the worst side effects (ie more likely to have after shot symptoms and stronger symptoms; not talking long term side effects).

We survived a dozen close contacts with J&J this summer unscathed and we had numerous friends get breakthroughs with Moderna and Pfizer. We could have spread it for all I know. Everybody we hung out with at Pine Cove, including our devo counselor (who did not like social distancing,) caught it but we tested negative for the next two weeks.

This is anecdotal, I acknowledge. I know a person with J&J that had a breakthrough case as well.

As already mentioned Moderna seems to be the best and also has the most frequent annoying adverse effects. This is likely dose related (100 vs 30 for Pfizer)

I expect Moderna to advise a booster that is half dose 8-12 months after the first two.

J&J is submitting their booster data soon and it is promising at least on the short term.

Love this logic. The best way to prevent having an adverse outcome from an infection due to lack of a primed immune system is to get infected with a lack of a primed immune system.

None of them work exceptional well. The better they are the worse the side effects.

Personally I always would go J&J because it is the least inconvenient and does as well as any.

Seriously Clark? The severe hospitalization and death data would suggests otherwise.

No loss of smell, no lung fibrosis, no risk of long COVID, small risk of mild breakthrough infection. Sounds like one is clearly superior.

At preventing catching Covid? They all have numerous breakthrough cases. They all perform pretty well for severe cases.

So all things basically equal, go with the most convenient.

I thought that when you said "None of them work exceptional well" you meant that vaccines don't help so why bother getting vaccinated. Yes there breakthrough cases left and right however moderna is still doing the best with Delta. Likely due to it's larger dosage (3x lkarger then Pfizer's).
