1. Seems like I have heard this same for well over a year. I think my wife made me go out and get mouthwash during the TP hoarding days.

2. The actual paper does not match the headline.

Doesn't appear to be a listerine ingredient. Anyone know what types of mouth wash include this ingredient?

Some of these articles list ingredients to look for. Ever wonder why all the dentists aren't dead yet?

It is logical that this + nasal rinses should be very effective at prevention.

Treatment not so much, but no harm in it so why not!

Saline or some have added chlorhexidine or some other disinfectant. I would stick to salt with distilled water. That is by far the most effective way to prevent sinus infections as well but kids almost never do them and adults aren't much better. And not just a little squirt, it needs to be a RINSE out.

This is the one I use when I get a URI. Amazon.com: Neilmed Sinus Rinse Starter Kit (5 Packets) : Health & Household

Any chance nasal rinses could impact tests since they are nasal swabs?

Only the false positives I would think as it should wash out any old left over viral fragments. If you are really sick it will be replicating so quickly it will be picked up again.

Great question though I had never really thought about that.

It was something I wondered about since we had Covid in our house. We all had the similar symptoms but i never actually generated a positive test. I was also rinsing two to three times a day as I am a big user of the saline rinse when I am congested. Wondered at that time if it might've played a part.

My wife has been using a mouthwash with this ingredient for about a year now. Son and I recently had Covid, and she hasn't. Never know.
