As many of you know, Ive had Covid Long Haul symptoms for the past 16 months: feverish feeling, warmness feeling, achy, chills, ear ache, leg pain, brain fog, fatigue. Basically your typical Flu life symptoms sprinkled with some covid in there lol. I got fully vaccinated 5 months ago and ever since then my symptoms got worse: dizzy and lightheaded spells, disoriented feeling, arm pain.

For the past month or so my symptoms got worse and worse. I started to feel dizzy and sick almost everyday. The past week has been the worst Ive felt in a long time, Im pretty much sick and dizzy the entire day. Its been horrible.

Ive written about my past experience with Ivermectin before. It was the only thing that made my symptoms go away a few months ago. Well Ive been so desperate this week to break my feverish feeling, nothing worked, tylenol, advil, aleve, nothing. My Ivermectin arrived in the mail today from an unknown (wink) overseas country, I took 20 MG, and within 30 minutes all of my symptoms went away. No fever, no dizzyiness, no arm/leg pain, no fatigue, my energy came back, it was like an on and off switch. I havent felt this good since before Covid.

Now I know a lot of people will say this was a placebo effect. But Ive taken Ivermectin on 3 separate occasions and everytime I take it, my symptoms go away within 30 minutes. Ive tried every drug and medication known to man, and its the only thing thats worked for me. I dont know why it works or how it works, but it works for me, period.

I just wanted to share my experience trying ivermectin again for my longhaul symptoms. Flame away lol.

AWESOME!!

Glad it worked for you, and again, sorry it's been so rough. I take Ivermectin prophylactically for about a month now, no problems.

Hang in there and keep doing what makes sense.

The last time I took ivermectin months ago, I took 15 MG for 4 days straight. No side effects, felt great after. I was following the FLCCC dosage guidelines for long haulers. They recently changed their dosage and say to take anywhere from 20-24 MG (depending on your weight).

Yesterday I took 20 MG and and I think that might've been too much. I had bad acid reflux and also felt overly energetic, like I drank a red Bull or something lol. Today I'm going to take 16 MG and see how it goes. I'm going to follow the FLCCC guidelines and take it for 5 days straight, then 1-2 times a week for 2 weeks.

What are your symptoms and for how long?

I forgot to mention last time I took it on a full stomach per the FLCCC recommendations. Yesterday I took it on an empty stomach, so maybe that's why I got the acid reflux.

Very interesting, and encouraging.

Do we know much about long hauler status? Is it expected to be a chronic thing that last years or even forever? I have never heard of a cold-type virus doing this to a select group of people and can't even begin to understand it. Very bizarre.

Hope all of you long haulers get relief and healing somehow.

From what I've read on long haulers reddit group and Facebook, the longest case someone has had has been 18 months. Sounds like generally people either get better around the 12 month or 18 month mark.

My doctor said she's seen cases of people having Mono symptoms for 18 months. So I guess covid long haul isn't unprecedented. The crazy thing is I'm an otherwise healthy 36 year old male. I exercise and eat healthy. No underlying conditions. This seems to target younger people for some reason.

It isn't a "placebo" effect. It is working the way it is supposed to, just like an AIDS drug, which is what is was potentially going to start studies for in the past. It "masks " the symptoms but doesn't cure it, your own body would then have to cure it. Now whether or not masking the symptoms helps cure it I don't know, but you do feel better.

on f/b there's an entire group of long haulers under the title: survivors group; so much info. from those actually living the dream of being a long hauler; i'm female, 75 yrs. and have worked out for 35+ yrs. but immune compromised and take a chemo drug in small amounts to keep crohns/uc in remission; i skated thru the virus in dec. 2020, riding my spin bike at home during quarantine; did lose taste/smell; hubby had more symptoms. long haul symptoms started before vaccine ever developed but have had 2 moderna and 1 booster; i have energy in the am to still work out daily at gym; dizziness was bad early on but now i refer to myself as helium head as i feel dizziness and head pressure beginning at 2pm til bedtime; brain fog has gotten better but the insomnia is relentless and very common in long haulers; i have hypomania but no depression so sleep has never been great but now i must nap a few times a day to make up for lost sleep and still need 3 meds nightly to sleep; anxiety/o.c. are over the top since being long hauler; some meds now have opposite effect; mj is legal here in az. so i'll chew a small pc. of insomnia gummy just to kill anxiety at end of day; i have appt. w/e n t dr. in nov. but w/my immune system issues, i may never recover. i am living the dream....

Seems to be some data materializing that long hauler symptoms are the result of acquired auto-immunity. Would be curious on what (if any) effects invermectin has on the immune system that may modulate the long hauler symptoms.

This Makes total sense. I felt fine yesterday after taking ivermectin then the symptoms returned 12 hours later. I took ivermectin again today and the symptoms went away. This has been my experience a few other times after taking ivermectin, I will feel better after taking it but the symptoms return once I stop.

I just read about POTS after Covid and thought this article might interest you. It doesn't sound exactly like what you describe, but if any of it relates, maybe it's worth looking into. Hoping long-term relief happens very soon

Day 3 update of taking ivermectin:

I have been completely symptom free for the past 24 hours. No fever, no dizzy spells, nothing. This hasnt happened in probably 1.5-2 months. Usually I get covid symptoms every single day. I am going to keep taking it for 2 more days and then switch to 2x weekly per the FLCCC guidance.

God bless Ivermectin!!

Edit: I hadnt taken ivermectin on day 3 in 24 hours and my symptoms were still gone. I think everyday that I take it, it lasts a little longer.

Try to find the Joe Rogan podcast with Dr. Koury and Brett Weinstein. It's long but well worth the listen. They get into ivermectin for long haulers as well as relief from vaccine injury.

Day 4 of ivermectin covid long haul treatment and it's been 48 hours without covid symptoms. I haven't been 48 hours without symptoms in over 2-3 months. I can't tell you how great of a feeling it is to just feel normal again for a day or two.

I hope it keeps working. To all the long haulers following this thread, give ivermectin a try.

Great news that you are finding relief from your symptoms! I wanted to pass along this video from Dr. Lozano. She has a clinic in Dallas and has been pretty much exclusively treating covid patients since April 2020. There is some blood sugar information that may be helpful in controlling your symptoms.

I'm glad you are getting some relief and I'm all for people taking whatever they want to take. I have nothing against ivermectin and would happily give it a try if I had Covid.

However the thing I can't wrap my head around is why Ivermectin would work for symptoms of Covid long haulers. From what I have seen, the theory for Ivermectin being effective against Covid is that it has protease inhibiting properties that slow or prevent the replication of the virus in the body.

For Long haulers it was always my understanding that the virus is gone, but your body is still suffering from the effects of what the virus (and your immune system) did to your body while the virus was being fought off.

Certainly not trying to discourage you from continuing to use Ivermectin, just trying to understand why it would work.

You should research the immune system, inflammation and receptors involved. It's thought that ivermectin has anti-inflammatory properties. Suppression of IL-6 may be why it help with long haul symptoms.

Is it possible to experience a placebo effect on 3 separate occasions spaced out between 3 months? Asking for a friend lol.

Ive taken ivermectin 3 different times for a total of 12 days in a 3 month time frame, and every single time my symptoms went away after taking it. It did not cure my covid long haul, but it did take away the symptoms. That's good enough for me when literally nothing else works.

I can't tell you how happy I am for you. I had Covid symptoms, especially brain fog for two weeks after. It sucked! Can't imagine 16 months.
