So I just got put in the hospital about an hour ago due to oxygen level around 85 when walking in to the ER. The doctor here is wanting to put me on remdezivir and a steroid. He also mentioned a drug that suppresses parts of your immune system - Actemra. Has anyone used this out heard much use of it?

Yeah the doctor said my immune system is essentially hyperactive right now and it's attacking my lungs. So apparently this drug suppresses it for a month or two to allow my body to actually recover. Feels kinda scary but reading up on it, it sounds like it might be good.

I was in the hospital with Covid pneumonia recently and they gave me something like this but I can't recall the name of it.

If your doc has access to it and can get it in you, this can be good for you.

Get well soon.

If the doc is trying to lower your immune activity then I'd listen. A lot of the collateral damage from Covid happens from an overactive immune response. Backwards thinking a little bit to suppress your immune response, but 18 months in they have a much clearer picture of how this bug affects the body.

Get well soon!
