Covid and contagiousness

I'm on day 7 of battling covid. So far every day has been the same, slight fever (99-100.5), chills, body aches, slight cough but not too bad. So far I've just been drinking plenty of water, taking vitamins, and taking pain meds for the aches/fever. It seems like I'm in Groundhog Day, everyday is the same, not getting sicker but not getting better.

At what point is someone not considered contagious? Say I wake up with no fever tomorrow and feeling better, am I still contagious? What are the recommendations on breaking quarantine?

At my place of employment, the rule is 10 days from first symptoms AND 24 hour symptom free (without help from Tylenol, etc.)

That's what I've heard as well.

Best wishes to the OP, I've heard many say day 8/9 is when you either suddenly feel better or it takes a turn to where you may want to get some treatment.

The last I looked, the CDC's rules were ten days from the test if asymptomatic. If you had symptoms, it was at least ten days from the beginning of symptoms, no fever, and the symptoms were improving.

When I had it in May 2020, one of the nurses who called on the phone said that I would not be released from isolation until I tested negative. That prompted me to check out the CDC rules. I gave myself one extra day past the CDC's rules, released myself from isolation. and notified the Texas Department of State Health Services. They, in turn, send me a letter to print out that said I was no longer in isolation.

In October 2020, I had the symptoms again except for my sense of smell going crazy. Everything else was identical to May 2020. With my sense of smell staying normal (for me -- my sense of smell is pathetic), I didn't even think of covid until more than a week later. I was in the doctor's office and the physician's assistant urged me to get tested. My response was that it didn't really matter because by the time the tests results came back I would be out of isolation. The physician's assistant got mad and told me that if I got the test and it was positive, I would be in isolation for ten days from the date of the test. I tried arguing that she was wrong and finally just said that I definitely wasn't going to get tested if it meant isolation for ten days after the test even though I had already recovered.

Thanks for the well wishes. You called it. I woke up this morning (day 8) with no fever. The last time I took tylenol was 3 pm yesterday.

Different for each, but I had fever like yours for 9 days (spiked over 101.8 a few times shortly). Then was gone day 10, came back day 11 and then gone for good day 12. Fever, headaches and some fatigue was all I had.

This is what I'm experiencing so far. I'm on day 7. I counted the first day when I got a fever. Also developed a dry cough on day 6.
