Curious if any of the doctors have had experiences with people claiming to have issues with their legs post Covid. We have a guy at work who had a pretty rough go of Covid and to this day, months later, claims to have issues with his legs. Issues such as has a hard time with steps, getting down on the ground and getting back up, etc.

Anyone else seeing / experiencing that? I'm not sure how much of it is true and how much of it may be milking things to be on light duty. I know it seems to be affecting everyone in different and weird ways, but this seems odd.

He sounds like a covid long hauler, and leg pain and muscle soreness is a common symptom of covid.

Ive had Covid long haul symptoms for 15 months and I had the same symptoms as your coworker: upper thigh pain, calf pain, back pain, shoulder pain. Sometimes the upper thigh pain would hurt so much that it was hard to walk or do any type of exercise.

The leg pain comes and goes but its much better now than it was last year.

Same here. My legs could feel fine for weeks then boom it starts to flare up and I can feel the soreness/pain again for a week or so. Im a healthy and in shape mid 30's male for reference. There were a few times last year that the pain was so bad I was limping around like an old man for a few weeks lol.

My legs are weak, but I am still dealing with COVID pneumonia. Getting better slowly, but I hope my legs get stronger and this doesn't linger for too long.

I hear ya on the weak legs Rex. I lost a lot of muscle and strength when I was in the hospital. I did a lot of walking this weekend at my sons baseball tournament and my legs are shot today. I'm ready to be fully recovered from this mess.

Glad to hear you are doing so well. I could not have done that yet. I still have too much crud in my lungs.

I did get winded while walking this weekend but I was able to sit down and recover pretty quickly. I am exhausted today though. Feels like I ran a marathon. I just don't have much stamina yet.

How long have you had these symptoms for?!

I got sick with Covid around August 15th and ended up in the hospital on August 27 with COVID pneumonia. Got released on September 3rd. All in all I've been sick for about a month.

Getting better, but not as fast as I would like. Just went for a 10 minute stroll down the block with my wife, and it is reminder of how much further that I need to go to feel normal. My leg muscles have atrophied quite a bit and are weak. I am only wearing my oxygen at night now, and I probably don't really need it then. I did wear myself out this morning tearing through my pantry trying to find where all the ants were coming from. Lol. I paid for that for a little while. Thanks for asking.

While I had covid I started having terrible joint pain in my hips and shoulders.

It's now been nine months and my left shoulder has not recovered. The others, I assume from exercising them, are fine. I just can't get the kink out of this left one. I have bad pain and weakness lifting anything away from the body.

Going to a shoulder doctor Wednesday to see if anything can be done. Sucks and I have no doubt others have worse. My actual covid wasn't bad. Weeks of ridiculous fatigue and these painful joints, though, made it pretty hard on me.

I was diagnosed last December. I had a rough go of it. Several months later I was still having pain and difficulty walking. I looked like I should be using a walker for assistance. It was almost April before I was walking with a normal gait, but was still somewhat weak. I'm an art teacher and on my feet all day. It was a very tough Spring. In addition to having difficulty with walking I was winded and sometimes dripping in sweat by noon.

While I was COVID positive, I had very severe leg pain. Nothing helped. I would often rotate ice packs just to get relief to be able to sleep.

My doctor had me start taking magnesium. That seemed to help a bit. I am still taking it along with all of the other supplements suggested.

I have had both vaccines and will be getting the booster. I never want to go through that again.

Prayers for a speedy recovery for all.

I swear you can name any malady of any part of the body and there's a "COVID" variation of it.

"COVID legs"
"COVID tongue"
"COVID rash"

I haven't heard of "COVID dick" yet but I'm sure there is one.

Why not put him back on regular duty and if he can't handle it he can find a job more appropriate?

my dad had covid back around Christmas and even today he still has weak legs, issues with steps and tires easily.

he's 78 and has had a kidney transplant and prostate cancer when he was younger.

other than the weak legs issue, though, he's all good.
