Blame for a lack of flexibility, staffing and preparedness in our healthcare industry, which has endangered us all, is being put upon a minority group?

True, the 'healthcare industry' as well as most of America, severely underestimated how mind numbingly deluded and bat**** insane the anti-vaxxers would be. And how it caused too many people to be hesitant about the vaccine enough to get hospitalized and result in this current tragedy.
Yep the healthcare industry has no idea what it is really like outside their bubble and sphere of influence. It must be shocking to some that not every human thinks and acts the same way as they do.

And lets be honest, referring to the unvaxxed rural folks and urban minorities as "deluded and bat**** insane" is condensing as hell. You know you've lost the high ground when your only recourse is name calling.

It's always the people inside the biggest most thickest bubble they created themselves, pointing at everyone else. Always about big gov, big pharma, big health, big tech, big auto, big transportation, big sasquatch big pizza yadda yadda yadda. Again, bat**** insane and delusional.

Once you're completely consumed by delusions of conspiracy, everything is a conspiracy of course.

And I never mentioned rural folks nor urban minorities, but here you are, playing the victim card. Be my guest and conjure up another delusion of being on the high ground. You've a ton of experience playing the victim card, ironically since so many here complain about people using the victim card.

Clay Jenkins just tweeted that according to NCTTRAC there are 26 available ICU beds in Dallas County. Would love to know what hospitals and hopefully the OP can find some. Best of luck!

It's just as much a conspiracy for OP to place blame on the unvaxxed when there seems to be equally as much blame to put upon the staffing issues and poor treatment decisions by healthcare providers. But the latter would require internal reflection and admission of mistakes.

eta: as it relates to victim card, I only bring it up that certain groups are more likely to be unvaxxed, and to reiterate, that you suggest those groups are "bat**** insane and delusional." If only those groups where as edumacated and informed as you and I, then maybe they would think and act exactly the same way that you expect they should

I have not cited Twitter nor claimed to be an anti-vaxxer. I have, however, questioned the hyperbolic messaging, criticized some facts as presented, and argued against the blatant finger-pointing, to the edge of of victim blaming, by some members of the healthcare industry. I would also argue, the healthcare establishment is doing itself no favors in the public trust with it's recent messaging and factually inconsistent communications. If that makes me tin foil hat wearer, so be it.

You are lying. I said his statement that "every ICU in Texas is full" is false. Because it is false.
Except that every ICU in Texas specifically told us they are full. We've called 43 different ones across the entire state starting last Wednesday. Every day we get the same story. We have someone whose full time job right now is calling ICUs.

So you can throw as many graphs up as you want. The people taking transfers are telling us something different, and graphs don't get my patients into ICUs.

Out of all the people saying I'm lying or mistaken or hysterical, not one has provided a contact to any of these ICUs with beds so I can transfer my patients. It's super easy to prove me wrong. Find a couple open beds so I can send my patients there.

Tell them to stop firing nurses and doctors for refusing an experimental vaccine. I do not want to hear about full ICUs when it is 100% the hospitals fault for causing staffing issues.

Why would an icu patient care if their nurse is vaccinated or not? Covid can be transmitted just as easily by vaxxed people as unvaxxed. Such a dumb argument.

Once again, the people making the data aren't the ones accepting transfers. I know people working at other hospitals in Ft Worth and Dallas and they're all holding ICU patients in the ER until a bed opens up. I don't personally know anyone in facilities outside the Metroplex, so I can't ask them.

I doubt they are hospitals with open ICU beds refusing transfers. People are dying. ICUs are also expensive to run, and full ICUs are better money-wisr. I can't think of a reason to leave a needed ICU spot empty. As far as why data doesn't match my reality, I have some guesses but that isn't the point.
As a fellow physician, who has performed surgery on three covid patients this week and seen countless others during my call duties, I feel for the situation you are in with the transfer problem. I would like to point out, however, that your assumption about ICUs is counter to reality. All inpatient care for the most part is a money loser for hospitals. ICU care is the biggest drain on a hospital's bottom line. Without outpatient imaging, surgery, physical therapy and money they get from their medical practice groups, hospitals would not be able to afford inpatient care and stay open. It makes sense that transferring into another ICU at an outside facility is going to be difficult when hospitals are so busy. When a hospital has overextended their ICU capacity beyond their normal number of licensed beds, they don't need to count those beds as available when considering taking a transfer. That explains the discrepancy in "number of available beds" on a website and the reality of available beds when the rubber hits the road. I am in no way saying it is right, or justifying it, but just trying to explain the situation. Again, good luck.

No it can't. Please stop with this. There is a possibility that some people that are vaccinated can have as much virus in their noses as an unvaccinated person, but the vaccinated individuals are far more likely to clear the virus much quicker. Even if they have a breakthrough case, they are going to overcome it quicker. And they may not get it at all. Additionally, if enough nurses or hospital staff, or whoever don't get vaccinated, you can have a lack of herd immunity among staff, so an entire day shift could be taken out for a week.

Except I never used the word or anything equivalent of dumb hicks, but hey keep making **** up, believing in it, and playing the hurt victim, as always.

And don't worry, people who believe in bat**** conspiracy theories to the point of taking horse paste are ignoring everyone anyway. Oh wait, not horse paste but an "an anti-parasitic drug that is used to treat river blindness and intestinal roundworm infection" before you complain.

I am in no way denying your situation, but you realize that by posting this you're creating further distrust? You made an absolute claim that is instantly disputed by data.

The very first post is showing ICU availability and has been automatically dismissed. DSHS shows 361 beds available in Texas as of yesterday. An improvement of 31 beds from 9/10.
Want to bet you or a loved one's life on that? Hope you or a loved one doesn't need an ICU bed - you can always scream but but but the data shows beds. Just like the unvaccinated scream/think "my immune system" is better. Well, history has shown the human immune system, while amazing, usually left people dead by 40 until vaccines and other modern medical advances came about.

I love how the instant response on this board is "hope your loved ones die" or making a mockery of someone admitting they don't fully understand hospital admin.

We've got a poster on here speaking an absolute. We have data that says it's not the case. If that's true, then there are bigger issues within the hospital system that need to be addressed.
No where did I ever say I hoped your loved ones die. Don't pull that bs, The fact is that the system is breaking and whether there are a few beds "available" or not, they are not where they are needed if indeed some exist. People who are in a car accident or have a stroke will die when they normally would not have because of the given situation. If that person is your loved one I bet opinions will change. It's an awful feeling when a patient dies that would normally not have.

Yep, ignore everything coming from professionals on the front lines with decades of experience, believe everything on Twitter from people who never took nor passed an organic chemistry course.

That's why an anti-parasitic drug that is used to treat river blindness and intestinal roundworm infection is sold out.

There has to be some medical term for those so wrapped up in conspiracy theories they harm themselves.

Maybe because they are opening a new facility in the area. Think they might need folks for that?
I have a family member who works there in the ER. The only nurses who have left are the ones exhausted from fighting Covid. And she told me one of her nurse best friends quit because a man spit on her and called her a liar when she told him he was Covid positive. This right after she had been with two families who had family members die due to Covid who were relatively young and were non vaccinated but had begged her for the shot a day before they died.
She said there attrition is more due to frustration and exhaustion. Both on nurse and doctor side.

We were at Cox Medical in Springfield MO. Saturday. They have more than enough nurses and their ICU,s are full.

Really? That's weird considering they are advertising a nurse hiring event on their Twitter. Why would they be hiring nurses if they have "more than enough"?
My wife is an ER physician at Cox. the number of nurses are constantly in flux as Missouri State is a huge nursing college. Typically, nurses get a job at one of the two hospitals in the area, work for a couple of years, and then leave for a bigger city for more money. She's working, so I can't as her about the current situation, but hospitals are always having hiring events.

Yeah, there's only so much health care providers can take. Everyone keeps saying they signed up for it, it's part of the job, but everyone has their breaking point. And I'm hearing the same from my healthcare worker friends. The emergency room PA I know quit and took up a job in family practice paying quite a bit less, but better hours and less stress. I know a nurse that says a couple co workers have just given up nursing completely and just being stay at home moms/dads, another became a realtor.

10 years ago people said no one would want to become doctors if Obamacare was enacted, especially the brightest kids who won't make as much money with socialized medicine in place. Now I think all the smart kids are going to see how we've treated our doctors and nurses during this pandemic, and how it has, and will continue to, push them to their breaking point. Why go into a profession where it's seemingly endless years of hard work, only to be spat upon by the people you're trying to help (literally and figuratively).

Facts are unfortunately not on his side. Only ad hominem attacks and arguments made in bad faith.

Lol, naw man. Facts are overwhelmingly on his side here. Overwhelmingly.

All you've done is ***** and nit pick certain aspects of OPs point, ignoring the forest for the trees to make dumb and unnecessary points. Neither of you are winners here, but you sir are the one arguing against a doctor trying to move his patients without success by bringing up data points that "prove him wrong," yet he's on the *********phone each day trying to save lives while you're googling **** to prove him wrong.
