Has anyone experienced dizziness after receiving the vaccine? I have a family member that is struggling with dizziness ~2.5 days after receiving the 2nd shot.

Has anyone dealt with this? Or has anyone had any luck in relieving the symptoms?

Thanks!

Just means it's working. If they stroke out it's totally unrelated.

I had it very badly after the second Pfizer shot. I am otherwise healthy, take no meds, and haven't missed a day of work in over two decades. In addition to headaches (which are unusual for me), I had two or three episodes of dizziness so bad that I had to grab onto something in order to avoid falling. My symptoms started probably over a week after the second shot. Everything spontaneously went away within another couple of weeks.

My mom (88) had severe dizziness for one day after the second Pfizer shot.

My wife did. It started a day or so after each shot and continued off and on from time to time for a few weeks but eventually went away.

I had constant dizziness/vertigo starting about 5 days after and lasting almost two weeks. I even went to the doctor after six days because I felt so nauseous and sick. They said nothing was wrong with my inner ears so it must've been the shot. But I had the Moderna one.

Ive posted about my experiences before after the Pfizer vaccine, but here it goes again.

I got the second shot about 4 months ago. 2 weeks later I started getting bad dizzy/light headed spells. They were frequent too, almost everyday, and would last for an hour or so. Im still getting those frequent dizzy spells 4 months later. I feel like the vaccine messed up my brain or something lol.

Also, I get frequent forearm pain on both arms. It hurts to move my forearm around most days.

This is why I understand if people dont want to get the vaccine. I regret taking it, and I had natural immunity already because I had covid previously.

You didn't start having dizziness and arm pain symptoms until two weeks AFTER the shot?

Interesting. Seems like a long time.

Anything else change during that time? Have you been to a doctor to see if there's anything else going on?

Forearm pain seems particularly strange.

Have you had your heart checked?

Correct, 2-4 weeks after the shot. To be fair, Ive had covid long haul symptoms for 15 months and Ive had muscle pain in my legs and back. But the dizziness and arm pain didnt come until after the vaccine.

Im seeing a doctor tomorrow about the dizziness. My best guess is she will tell me she doesn't know whats wrong and doesnt know how to treat it lol.

Have not had my heart checked.

Be sure you mention the arm pain, and if she says it's nothing go to a cardiologist for a check. The long covid symptoms should be checked, imho.

Ive already seen my doctor for my long haul covid symptoms including leg and back pain. There is nothing doctors can do to treat long covid unfortunately. Ive already taken all of the covid treatments and nothing has worked.

Basically its a just wait it out and it will eventually go away type of thing.

I have a family member that has had pretty bad dizziness/vertigo after having COVID. Been going on for about a month. Not every day and some days are worse than others. I've had eye headaches after getting the shot and then COVID. Not every day, but they come and go and I never had them before getting the shot.

I've got a slight lingering headache from the 1st shot over a week now. All the muscle soreness has gone away and the fatigue is a lot less. The headache has slowly gotten better as well.

Not affecting me too much and I assume it will go away eventually.

Not looking forward to the 2nd shot.

If you're having ongoing dizziness issues, you need to see a neuro-otologist. Houston, Dallas, etc.

The average doctor knows little to none about the vestibular system. Even the same can be said for the average ENT and neurologist. The best thing they can do for you is write a prescription for an evaluation by a good vestibular therapist.

It's a very complex area that we still don't know a lot about. Getting in front of the right people isn't easy but is very important.

The vestibular system is indeed very complex. It really isn't one system, it's many systems, all of which input into the brain. If any of the information about one's location in space doesn't match up with all of the other information, or if the brain is unable to adequately process all of the information, dizziness can ensue. Above is a great link to an easy-to-understand explanation about just how complex this is. It can be difficult if not impossible to diagnose the cause of dizziness. However, a few things are true:
Don't get old.
Get off of as many medications as you can.

Headaches from the first dose are finally responding to the Tylenol. What an inconvenience that was.
